When to let an auction end on ebay.com ??

i need some help from you guys selling lots of stuff on ebay.com

when should i start the auction / when should it end? i have no clue because of the US having multiple time zones and all that stuff but i'm going to sell a pretty expensive item so i was wondering what your experiences are

if possible please give me the GMT+1/MEZ time as i'm not too familiar with your timezones and don't want to convert it wrong

Just make sure the auction ends in OFFICE hours , from 9 am to 5 PM......I´ve had bad luck before because my auctions ended on holidays, or in the very early morning :/

My personal theory is that you get the best results by ending your auctions at Thursdays, 8PM, CST.

The reasoning for this is that people have Church on Wednesdays, and may not be on the computer as much over the weekend. So from there I decided Tuesday and Thursday would be good days. I figure 8PM CST is a good time since that covers 6PM - 9PM throughout the US, which gives everybody time to get home from work and get their final bids in.

Another reason to avoid the weekend is there are so many auctions that end then, that yours might get lost in the shuffle. That's my two cents.

I say screw those idiots at auctioninsights.
My Personal Experience:
List your stuff between 8 and 10 central time. Any day of the week should be OK. At least 90% of my stuff sells on the BIN Anyway; 50% in the first four hours; i'd say 25% in the FIRST HOUR. So, yeah....go with that.

The other reason I like my auctions to end on Thursday is so they can pay me by Friday and I can ship out either Friday or Saturday.

as for the BIN experience you mentioned @krazy kamino, that doesn't help me as it's just one rare game and i'm not yet sure if i will add an BIN, right now i'd prefer to use a reserve instead

CST = Central Standard Time, GMT-6 I believe.

I start mine around 8-9 CST. That lets people get home from work, do family stuff, then log on to ebay and see my auctions.

I have only sold a little, and I try to have them end on Sundays at 9-10pm CST , that way the largest # of people are home surfing and if they have ANY interest it'll be convenient for them to be home n snipe
