It's a rumor. Same rumor popped up when retail stores ran out of Rez for the PS2. Don't know about the game, but the BB adapter will be restocked in mid to late December.

A lot of those rumors were started by Funcoland, Gamestop, and other store under the same owner. Apparantly the game and the adapter were listed as discontinued because they won't be getting any shipment for a while and they don't want anymore pre-orders or reservations until the supply can meet the demand.

Rest assured, PSO and BBA will continue to ship when they make more. In fast, there should be more BBA available by end of December. Don't know about PSO availability.

Oh yeah, the rumor could also have been spread by the XBox fanboys who are really jealous because us GCer got the game a few month earlier plus we don't need to blow an extra $50/yr for propierty online service (Microsoft Lives) in addition to PSO monthly fee.

Yeah thank god the PS2 and Gamecube run on Pixie Dust. Damn "processers" and "CD ROMS" have no place in video games.

I did a little looking the other day and *both* modem adaptors for GC were available everywhere I looked (although I don't recall seeing PSO). If somebody needs one and wants to trade for one I'm willing to go pick one up.

It'd be only a matter of weeks before the deaf community files a lawsuit against M$ for making their gaming product very unfriendly with deaf and hard of hearing players. Unless the voice system has a built in voice to text interprenter for the deaf like Closed Caption.
