No, simply becuase of physical limitations from the FDS bios cartridge.

It can be done, as I've done it myself. It works best on a toploader NES as you only need one Famicom-to-NES adaptor. I haven't done it on my frontloader, but it's been done. You just need a number of adaptors. A Famicom-to-NES connected to an NES-to-Famicom connected to a Famicom-to-NES connected to an NES-to-Famicom, etc.

so instead of using all the adapters could you use a plug through game or something like a game genie?

What about the one DP member (i forget who) who modified their toaster so that the 72 pin connector was right inside the door? would that eliminate the need for all the adaptors except one fami to NES adapter?

if its just a matter of the fact that the game needs to be pressed down thats no problem as my console plays games with them in the up position

hmmmmm m82 with a disc drive @_@ should be a challenge, i think i'll butcher a standard console first though, the m82 has the expansion slot so should be do-able ;)

In my Top-loading Famicom, I once got the following in:
-NES-to-FC adapter
-Game Genie
-FC-to-NES adapter
-some NES game
The main problem was making the carts turned in the correct directions.

Won't hooking an FDS to the NES wash out the extra FM sound channel in the FDS?

You can easily line them up because NES carts have a flat front while Famicom carts have a flat back. So just line up the flat side with the flat side and the \______/ sides.

i must be missing something, if you already have a working fds, why would you butcher it to fit in an nes?

You're altering the NES, not the FDS, judging from that tutorial.

I am almost posivet that is what he is talking about.
"fds to work with a standard nes, only thing is he has had to strip half the console away to do, so it doesnt look anything special."
says with, not in.
if not, look here:

Cool site with pics of the FDS open.
As a side not, You can also see the motor which can be a reason why an FDS may not work. Stick a small screw driver in there and turn it left to right. Usually, you can feel it/error messages will change. Also, there is a pad on the reader that reads the disk, That can also go bad. The belt, as everyone knows, can belmelted and then needs replaced, after replacing, it may fall off, have to be moved aroud. I would guess that the motor begins to move to fast or slow and makes the band "roll" funny There is a member on here that sells new bands for a good price. nice bands. Mr. Habbobi I believe.
Also, I will be selling my FDS collection soon. It is around 70 games and all official stuff.

I've done this before too with an NES using 60-72 and 72-60 pin adapters. For me, the hardest part was insuring the connection was good all around.
I didn't try them with game genies....can anyone confirm whether a gamegenie with an FDS allows it to still function (or if GG codes work on an FDS)?
