View Full Version : Nintendo 64 factory sealing..
I have about 6 sealed N64 games that have a tightly wrapped shrinkwrap, and an overlapped seal on the backside. Its not a raised ridge like the SNES or NES has. Now if I remember correctly from when I used to buy them way back this is how they sealed them back then. Today I recieved a Mario Cart 64 sealed like a SNES game but the ridge is much rougher than what I would presume would be a factory seal. Also the wrap seems a little loose for a factory seal. Any thoughts? I would have taken a pic, but my camera batteries died, and I dont have another damn funky lithium battery to drop in it.

If you would have taken a picture that would be great! I can easily tell what is and what is not a factory sealed game, well almost always.
Not every N64 game has the horizontal seam on back either. As a matter of fact alot of them don't. I asked Nintendo this before and they said there are variou ways of sealed N64 games.
And I think I know what you mean by the rougher or bigger parts. But can't tell you either way without a pic.
:)
I just bought a sealed copy of Hexen that had the thermal seam running all around the 4 side panels of the box.
Canadian boxes are often double wrapped. They take the regular wrap, and leaving it intact place a French language instruction book at the back of the box, and then shrink wrap it a second time.

Not Hexen!!!! That has to be one of the most worthless, boring game i've ever played. Don't you just love how you have 4 weapons in the whole game? LOL I like ShadowGate 64 better and that game is booorrriiinnngggg.
I forgot about scanning them on my HP all in one. LOL So heres a few pics.
Paper Mario with the overlapped shrink. Smooth finish no ridges no heatshrinked welded seam. This is how I remember these games came sealed, but that was many years ago when I was buying games for th N64!

And Super Smash Bros. with the heatshrink welded seam on the back.

Paper mario didnt show as well as SSB did.
Any thoughts? Im suspect of the SSB, and its somewhat loose shrink. I dont see any dents in the cardboard from where you would use your finger to pull open flap, but one flap is a little wrinkled, but not from someone opening it.

Alright, I want to give both those games a big hug!!!
Well, I can't really tell about the SSB from that picture, at all really. I would have to see pics of the whole thing.
Where did you get the game from, that your suspect of??
