Game Gear screen prob

I went to play some Sonic 2 on my old Game Gear, but it has since developed some weird screen glitches. I've never seen something like this before, anyways. Whenever I boot a game (any game), the bottom 1/4 of the screen is black. The rest of the screen functions normally, and the game plays normally as well, even though I can't see what's going on in the black area (obviously).

I tried cleaning it, yadda yadda... still nothing. Anybody have an idea of what this may be, and if its fixable?

Try going inside and cleaning the ribbon cable connector that goes from the PCB to the screen.

I remember the screen connector was soldered in place?

Is it? I know the Nomads is indeed soldered in place. Still, it can't hurt to gon iside, blow everything out, and make sure everything is connected up nice and tight.
