Anyone got it? That sucker is huge--226 pages!! It looks like the thickest strategy guide I've seen. I am not a strategy guide guy, but was advised to get it for Halo 2 from others. It seems to be a nice, well put together guide, but I have only flipped through it thus far.

Its an FPS what the hell do you need that for? :?

It's a sweet strat guide, including if you want to find everything in the game, and some sweet multiplayer maps and tips. But alas, GTA: San Andreas has a bigger strategy guide....272 pages, believe me, I know, I had to memorize all it's vital facts for launch day.

Don't really "need" it, some friends of mine have it, and think it enhances the whole experience. There are a lot of tidbits and weapon descriptions etc etc in it as well--- it compliments the game nicely I guess. Don't need it, but is pretty cool........

Well thats good, I was hoping you didn't need strats with a FPS, that would be just sad.

Naw man, I wouldn't need a guide for a game like this, but it is very well put together, and I kinda got wound up in the whole Halo 2 hype I guess. I'm not sorry I got the guide--it is very nice!

In real life, one never goes into the field without a plan!

Too bad we aren't at the point where you can let your squadmates know what you want them to do, though LOL

Pffft. That's nothing. The Morrowind GotY guide is 400+ pages. That thing is like a frickin' phone book!

And worth every penny of its $16.99 sum, if only for the maps and the thumbnails. No way in hell I'd be able to find all those gang tags and photo ops on my own. I refuse to look at anything else in there, however, until I've beaten the game. :)

They gave you that guide free if you bought Halo 2 from Target. That's how I got mine. It was a 'while supplies last' kinda deal, I think. I wouldn't normally think I'd need a guide for a FPS either, but if it's free, what the heck, why not? It is pretty nice sized too!

my friends have a copy of the guide and seems pretty good. once i get the game, i might buy a guide for it at 7 11. yes it may be strange, but the 7 11 near my house has 4 guides left and 2 copies of the game. It's Weird. :hmm:

I heard it's 3 times as long as the first! How can that be short?

I'm already playing it for over 6 hours, and only at the 2nd time I'm the arbiter (spelling?). What a wild crazy game!

The Morrowind book is large (and a great read), but the biggest strategy guide EVER published goes to Working Design's book for Arc the Lad 1 + 2. This sucker weighs in at 571 pages! :eek 2:

Christ, what last longer, reading the guide or the game's actual gameplay?

Someone with too much time on there hands needs to publish a Super Mario Bros. Strategy Guide that's 600+ pages long.....just for the hell of it.

I'd buy it!

Well, for one thing, the book is very well done -- it's hardcover, normal sizes pages, interviews and other stuff on the pages as well. Second, they ARE covering two games here, even though Arc II gets most of the coverage. And the game has a lot of hunter quests, so that is explained in detail as well on how to do that. If the pages were larger (think Morrowind GOTY size) then it would be a bit smaller.

As for times? I recall it took me about 40 hours to go through Arc II. The book? I read it the first day I got it straight (since I had allready finished the game then) and I got it done in 5 hours. :D
