Hey there! I have some PlayStation's CDs here that has few scratches. I'd like to remove them, so the CD will appear like new and work better. So I heard about "resurfacing CDs". I ask:
1 - What is it?
2 - Is it safe?
3 - Does it really removes the scratches?
4 - The CD will work normally?
5 - The CD will look thinner?
6 - Do you recommend?

Thanks! :)

To answer some of the questions.

Yes

Yes
5
Yes and no depending on what you use.
6
Generally only if you have a CD that doesn't play normal.

While those kind of products can remove scratches most or all of them will leave marks behind from the CD beening clean. If you want it to look absolute mint and prestine I wouldn't recommend it.

Actually "resurfacing" a CD will make it work and look like new.

But using one of the Disc Doctors or other "scratch remover" machines will make your disc look horrible and it will only help with small scratches.

Take them to a professional with "disc resurfacing" machine and you will be very happy with the results.

No, what I meant was take it to someone who does "professional" resurfacing. With a $3,000 professional resurfacing machine.

Any "resurfacing" machine you can buy off Ebay or in a store for $40-$50 or so is a piece of junk that will make your discs look terrible and won't help much with the scratches.

Well over here in the U.S. , they are in Dvd Rental Stores, and CD Music Stores. But I don't know where they might be in Brazil. :/

It's usually $3-$4 per disc. I've had it done cheaper by bringing in a lot.

I see.
I'll look for it here in Brazil.
Thanks a lot!
