Saturn: Blinking/pulsing power LED

Never seen or heard of this one before.

After unpacking & hooking up my Saturn, the power LED continually blinks (pulses, really). My first instinct is a problem with the power supply, like it's continually resetting itself. Tried it with/without memory battery, and tried resetting the internal memory via the grey button in the battery compartment. No video signal appears on screen.

Anyone have any other insight or experience with this?

I'd give the PSU board a little wiggle, could be a contact problem. That or there's a short somewhere.

You are describing the behaviour of an overheating Saturn. Check for the presence of the heat shield under the PSU. Also, shorts, like a screwed up region mod, can cause the same overheating/behaviour.
