Well I have played a few MSX games like Contra,Q Bert,Nemesis(Gradius)1,2,3 and both of the Metal Gears through emulation.

I have decided I am going to collect for this 8-bit computer when I get enough money(being that Gradius is $20 and Metal Gear goes for high).

The only MSX system I have seen on the U.S and U.k Ebays is the Toshiba HX-10 64 KB.

I really need some help because I am a totale Newbie when it comes to MSX.

I'am thinking before I get the system itself I should get games whenever I get the chance.

If you just want one MSX you need an MSX 2+ or a Turbo R. A Toshiba HX-10 MSX 1 can only run the early games. It is also one of the poorer MSX 1 models . A Sony would be much nicer. The minimum you want is an MSX 2 with a DS disk drive

I guess you need to get one from Japan. There is a guy on Ebay from the Netherlands who sells alot of stuff (rklok). His packaging can be a bit problematic though. Yahoo Japan is very good but most sellers do post post internationally.

IF you look regularly most of the Konami games come up on ebay from time to time. Rare ones can get very expensive as there are many collectors in Europe. European versions of the games where available will be in English so unless you understand Japanese look for them. The Japanese versions of the later games come in better boxes with improved artwork on the manuals. The later MSX 2 games and all the MSX 2+ / Turbo R were only available in Japan. The exchange rate does not help.

Typical ebay prices for boxed good condition games

Metal Gear 2 $250+
Metal Gear $60+
SD Snatcher $100
Snatcher $80
Contra $60
Nemesis 3 $60
Nemesis 2 $30
Q*Bert $20
Penguin Adventure $25 - this is a very good game and it is MSX 1
Antarctic Adventure $20

The really rare Konami games are Cabbage Patch Kids, Mahjong & Frogger
There are as many MSX games as for a system like the Commodore 64 so it is interesting to collect for
