Seen this on AtariAge, NYC DPers could get good deals :

"As some of you are aware of my store and are also NYC residents I just want to announce here that my store will be closing at the end of December. I have to sell ALL inventory. I will be doing deals like I have never done before. Anyone wishing to stop at my location and haggle out a reasonable offer...will get the deal. Keep in mind that I can and will ebay much of my store. My ebay user id is videogamesdeal and my site is http://www.videogamedeals.com

I am closing my store for a variety of reasons...the main one is that I have been open for 10 years and it's been tough on my family. I have 4 children now and they demand more attention than a self-employed store owner can give. I am even packing up and moving the family to Las Vegas where I have no plans to continue in game retailing.

I will not be doing any discounts on new games or systems. Your best chance at deals are my accessories, classics, vintage handhelds, and used games. I have thousands of dollars worth of inventory and it must all sell. I have rarity items that are incredibly hard to get that I have always priced high (and sold lots) but it all must go and I am willing to sell at reasonable prices.

Anyone wishing to buy my store and would like to seriously inquire please PM me. I am looking to sell for about $100,000 but would entertain offers as well. The store does 500k or more in sales per year and inventory alone may be near 100k. But I am done with it and closing this chapter of my life so I just want to recover what money I can and I don't want to take anything with me to sell later.

Umm...for images of my store check here:

More deals to come over the next few weeks. I will try to only create threads when I have a large amount of items to sell. If you own a store and need bulk accessories like AC adapters, RF switches, Controllers, and things of that nature you would do well to contact me."

In the distance I hear Greg "geelw" Wilcox and Jessen "Tetsu" Jurado emptying their pockets.

So who wants to go in with me and buy the store?

Too rich for my blood. Besides I thought I was done with videogames. Then what am I doing here? Hey, you can't say that. Yes I can! I can talk to myself if I want to.

On St. Marks, almost right across the street from "Coney Island High"

What's considered, "going in on it"? $100K is alot of scratch :)

...Except that Coney no longer exists, it's a bunch of condos for affluent Japanese trust fund kids.

Used Coney just for a landmark for that area that someone may have been familiar with, is the tattoo shop with the comic shop and records on second floor still there, or are they condos too now?

Yeah, St Mark's Comics and the record store is still there, directly across from Multimedia. I wasn't trying to be a dick, I was just pointing out that every trace of Coney is gone, from the sign to the big red double doors etc., and is now a glass storefront facade. That's why it wouldn't make such a good landmark. :)

Wow, I knew they sold all kinds of classic games and such, but I never expected the store to look like THAT. O_O I'm super tight on money right now, but heck, I might make a trip there just to check it out before it closes down. It's like a mini-museum. o_o

No perceived dick-iness taken :)

I didn't know it was completely "wiped" away, :eek 2: last time I was in that area was when it effectively was "closed" but no one seemed to be sure what was going to happen to it (we're talking a good many years). Glass front store? Wow...

But back on topic, I've been to Multimedia 1.0 many times, they always had a great selection (but often a bit pricey, which we'd chalk up to paying rent in the city) and I'm surprised to see them closing.

That's too bad. I like MM 1.0 a lot. They have gone down hill in considerable fashion for a couple years now. They used to have a lot of imports. They still do, but not to the same degree. I wonder what will happen to Foul Magazine. It's been on hiatus as far as i know for some time. I guess it's dead like my great grandma.

NYC is too far fore me too go right now. I wonder if He'll haggle about prices online? I want a Turbo Grafx 16, but $89.99, that's a bit steep.

He said he'd work with on it on used stuff.

It's really sad because it seems like I've never get to go to a place like that :(

I guess I'll have to catch a gathering once I get out on my own.

St. Marks and what? I need SOMETHING to tell the cab driver. :)

If I recall correctly, St. Marks is only like a block or two long. And I think it's the same thing as 8th Avenue, right?

If you see a large black cube, sitting on it's corner, in the middle of an intersection, you're within 1 block of the shop.

$100,000 at the present interest rate.

Hmmm less than a Mercedes payment. :D

I work in the city now (have been for close to 2 months) and I don't even have time to go three blocks from work. :/

Thanks for the info...I'll try my best to get over there.

I was at MM1.0 today. All the stuff I was interested in was gone. The owner, I always forget his name, seemed pretty fucking pissy. Goodbye MM1.0. You will not be missed.

I went there in April... like a 4 hour bus ride lol

Very impressed... about everything you could ever want, ever! Problem is, it was all really expensive. Ebay prices if I remember right. And he ripped people off HARDCORE when he bought systems. I was there when he bought a huge Atari collection from a lady for $20, telling her that no-one wants the stuff anymore :hmm:

Any NES boxed stuff left there?
