Looks like Nintendo gives away a gameboyadvance Sp which will be worth EASILY 62176216356$ in some years. It will be the RARITY of all RARITIES.
It will make some ppl VERY poor(in some years) and if you have one (in 10 years) well...then you will be rich:

The ultra-limited(7 only) 24-karat GOLD Zelda GameboyAdvanceSP (http://www.joystiq.com/entry/2138136368279903/)

only winable in UK

Holy mother of all kind of shits

"Thats Gold Jerry, GOLD...plated!!! I think there were only 2500 Zelda sp editions made in the UK so there is a good chance to get that golden ticket

BTW: My favorite scene in Willy Wonka in when Charlie fakes like he got the Golden ticket to make his Grandpa happy, then in an ackward moment recants his joyful claim...its hilarious!

Are those numbers for UK-only or for whole europe(as usual  )?

cause I see dozens of them in every store here in austria.

I'd still rather have the gold Gamegear that was encrusted with jewels.

well, thats a tricky questions....if you have to give up your ticket for the system, and 4 people trade in tickets, then the remaining tickets will be rarer than the system

HOLY SH*T. That thing is going to be the most rare system ever created ! (is there anything more limited that that).
I can't even imagine what it will be worth in the future. @_@

Wasn't there some sort of jewel encrusted Game Boy or Game Gear that was made?

You can pre-order the Mario version at the following:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000670J9O/qid=1100724652/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl/026-2262252-5193244

You can also order the Zelda version at the following:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000670J94/qid=1100724802/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_18_1/026-2262252-5193244

Unfortunately, amazon UK will not ship to USA. CURSES AMAZON!! Maybe there is a fellow DPer out there who would help all of us out and order a few of them???

Each of them are about $135 in US funds.

Or maybe it will be like those old basketball card sendoffs for the lottery picks. Not only did you get all 11 of the first draft picks but you also got a cancelled sendoff ticket back. The winners could make out double - sell the ticket, then the system. Ohh the possibilites.

If someone withg a gold NWC cart gets one they'll be able to put their kids through college in ten years. That will probably become one of the rarest videogame related items to own, since there are only seven.

Someone can't convert properly... at the current exchange rate 90GBP is US$167. Yep that's a fair amount of dough now to blow ;)

Still I've got myself two of the little buggers. Pity neither of them had a gold ticket in though. And before you ask, one of them is going to Gamegirl cos she asked nicely if I could get her one :P

110US + shipping? Are you sure? 90GBP is $167US at the bank rate, more like $170 at the consumer rate.

Methinks you put in euros.

90 euros is indeed $117.

However, 90 pounds (the currency of England), is $167.

On amazon UK it clearly says £84.99 converts to (Approx: $134.29).
So £89.99 would convert to (Approx. $142.19).

Again, this is amazon's site info and I am certain it is up to date with the most current exchange rates.

Hey, if Amazon will charge you that, you should go for it. I do a lot of intl. finance research and my bud is a hedge fund currency trader - it's definitely a lot more than $142 - L90; that was the exchange rate when I was in London two years ago!

Read the topic title as "handheld.ORG" the first time around - I suppose that's a rarity! LOL

system. an expired winning lotto ticket is worthless. so would be a mcdonalds 'boardwalk' game piece from 5 years ago. btw, i once won a year's supply of dr. pepper or something like that but lost the damn wrapper, only to find it after it expired.

Nobody collects the things you've mentioned; but the winning entries for the gold GBA SP as mentioned would definitely be cool to own. I would imagine that somebody might pay good money for an expired winning lotto ticket, but there's no nostalgia or coolness value.

yeah looks great but I think the gold SP will be more worth in some years.
Why?
Well,it seems(correct me if I'm wrong) that this game gear isn't made/gilded(sp?) by Sega.So it's NOT an official product. They "just" took a normal GameGear, gilded it and sticked some diamonds on it BUT it's not "official"(aka "Made by Sega").I guess you know what I mean.
The golden Zelda SP is an official product and that's the reason it's price will rise skyhigh.
