I got a promo DS stylus pen from an EB employee friend of mine a couple of weeks ago. Does that count?

We got in our first DS game today at the FYE store i work at. Spider-Man 2. the cases are nice! they're about the same size as a double jewel case (in fact, they fit perfectly in our double cd shucks). i'm soooo tempted to buy a DS....

Not yet. Hey, does anyone know if they can sell games before the date of the 21st, like the DS. Or do stores have to wait til the 21st for games too.

One thing I will need to get is somekind of cool travel case for the DS and accessories. I like buying them, but don't like paying $20 for a good case, but will easily do it.

The Nintendo-made cases for the US won't be coming out until December (the Japan ones as well, but they'll be release with the system I believe). And, yes, stores can and have been selling the games--just go to ebgames.com and see the 3 (or is it 4?) DS games for sale already.

For some reason those jerks at Gamestop refuse to sell me my reserved copy of Feel the Magic XY/XX. They got it in, but as of today they decided that they cant sell it until the twenty first. I told those idiots that that is just for the first party stuff since 21 is the official release date of the DS and Mario 64 DS. The third party games launched THIS WEEK!!!! they knew this up until yesterday night... GOSH I am so PO'ed. I have been looking forward to this for weeks.
It seems like every person they hire at Gamestop nowadays is an idiot who has no idea how anything in the game industry works. I would not mind it so much (after all the main purpose of the store is just to sell games, even though they should know what they are talking about), but all of these buttheads insist that they are gamers. However, when talking to them, it appears that they think this just because they play Halo or GTA...seriously, only one person of the twelve different people I know of at my local Gamestops had any idea what Feel the Magic even was....
That was a bit of a digression. Anyhoo, I also have a DS t-shirt from E3 that I bought at CGE.

Cool. Thanks. I will definately be wanting the "NINTENDO BRAND" travel case, or any other kind of case. Nintendo ones are always cooler looking and can take more wear than ugly 3rd party ones.

i wonder if those original model DS's (the ones they had to play at e3) will ever turn up anywhere.... i bet they'd go for major cash.

I hear you on that rant, Big time. I consider myself a real educated gamer. I used to work at EB a few years ago. And like the hairclub for men, I was an employee but also a client. I spoke to customers the way that I wanted an EB employee to speak to me (someone who knew about the fucking games and was psyched about the good ones) Most times when I hit up game stores now, there are employees behind the counter, but no gamers behind the counter. It totally sucks. I go into game stores, because I want to geek out and talk about games with someone when I make a purchase like that.

Another thing that pisses me off, and it only re-affirms my girlfriend's anti-gaming statements - is that the Gamestop near my apt totally smells like teenage boy BO. My DS, better not smell!

Are any stores doing midnight madness with the DS on Saturday night?
