I got something about this in the mail today. For $69.95, Nintendo is offering:

Super Mario Sunshine (worth $50)
The Player's Guide (worth $10 or so)
Memory Card 59 (worth $15 or so)
A $10 off coupon for a Wavebird Controller
1-year subscription to Nintendo Power (which is usually $20)

www.nintendopower.com/sunshinepak

Seeing as I'll need a new memory card for this, and I'll probably buy a Wavebird eventually, it's like getting the subscription and player's guide for free. Just thought I'd pass that along...

I was going to post this, and forgot about it what with all the board wackiness recently. Just to answer any follow up questions you may have, the offer number is 4328, the 10 dollar off coupon is a manufacturers coupon, not a mail in rebate (so you get 10 dollars off at point of purchase), and the bundle is shipped out UPS 2 day air the same day that it is shipped to stores, so you might get it a day later than the stores.

Thanks for the info! I will certainly go for it once I could afford it (which could be very soon if everything goes well: I have a job application test to do this weekend!). Good thing that the offer is good till late October. Could be a great b-day gift to myself...

Oh BTW the offer is 110.00 canadian. If you order it over the phone it's like 5 dollars extra because of GMT, but by mail 110.00 even is fine...

In fact, it's 110 Cdn plus tax, but shipping is included. And the Wavebird rebate is $15 in Canada.

Sweet Deal

1. My subscription is running out
2. I was already planning to get SMS
3. I wanted a WB controller, but it was too much.
4. Another Memory Card is always nice
5. Strategy guide for SMS? Sweet!

All in all, I'm doing it! :)

I'm thinking about it, I have NO interest in a nintendo power subscription, but I guess it will give me something to read. I don't think I'll be getting a wavebird, but MAYBE... Strategy guide wouldn't hurt, and I'm sure Mario won't go below $50 for a LONG time, The memory card is kinda useless since it's 1/3 the size of the new ones for the same price (I bought the 59 one week before I heard about the new ones, I paid $5 more for the old one than the new one is now)

BUT, all in all, it's a good deal so I'll probly get it :)

Besides, it's for the NTSC version of SMS (Great. Before we had Playstation One and Phantasy Star Online that shared the same initials, now we have Super Mario Sunshine and Sega Master System with the same initials...)

Well some of us here in the UK can play NTSC titles heh. I have a Japanese GC modded to play US titles for instance.

Plus there is a utility disc called "Freeloader" coming out next month from Datel for GC that will enable anyone to play any region GC game on any region GC machine...

Bah! Who wants to shell out £50 for a disc and old swap trick when $5 worth of parts is all you need to make your GC universal. If you have the needed security gamebit, you can easily do it yourself. (http://www.oratan.com/projects/gcn_mod.html)

Nice thought, but infact your WRONG! there is no such mod to allow PAL machines to Play US OR JAP games, so our only option is for a freeloader disk.. :) Technically your Universal Mod is not actually Universal, just US and JAP, but i can understand how you guys dont care about PAL regions, we get games after you anyways.. ( except for PS2, which in a few cases we get before you ie wipeout fushion has been released here for many many months, just released over there not too long ago was it? )

It's only £17, but if you really wanted, you can ship PAL games from Australia, where they come out at the same time as the USA. England only gets left behind because they have to 'translate' for the whole of europe. Which, if you ask me, is a big load of bullshit.
