I'm finally gonna have to replace my Playstation 2, so I was wondering if anyone knows of or has seen any deals or bundles. And I was wondering if the new PStwo model is compatible with dial up, I know it has a built in ethernet port.

If you're getting DREs, call Sony and they'll fix it for free. It has to be a DRE problem though, I believe, for you to get free repair.

PS2's have been overheating modded and unmodded... I recommend buying a preowned PS2 since they are cheaper now and you can get fixed free... Even though the PSTwos falls under warrenty the smell is unbearable and its a fire risk... You dont want it setting fire in the middle of playing Timesplitters2 do you? Although i'd say wait a bit for the newer revisions of PSTwo and see if they still have the same problems

I got my PS2 fixed for free recently even though it wasn't (I think) a DRE problem. It was a drive problem though. Check my post in this thread:

I was told of some bad memory card ports on these, but mine seems to be okay and it doesn't have a smell to it and it really doesn't get hot. I just wish the lid eject was stronger (so it would open up all the way). Maybe/hopefully it'll loosen up with use.
