It's funny how it all turned out. I never considered myself a "fanboy" of anything. I still don't think so. And yet, my Sega collection is truly a highlight for me:
- complete US Genesis collection, including over a hundred Mega-Drive carts. I won't be the last, but I'm sure I was the first to claim this. I've also got lots of Genesis rarities like the prototype Edge 16 modem, the 6-slot kiosk jukebox, the LaserActive module, an X'Eye, a Dev Unit, a MegaJet, etc. etc.
- complete US Dreamcast collection including the Sonic Limited Edition, complete Dreamcast magazine collection, loads of EU and JP titles as well.
- complete US Master System collection and I don't know how many EU titles. Lots.
- complete US Sega CD collection. Again, this has probably been done since but I'm the first one to claim it that I've seen. http://www.digitpress.com/images/segacd
- complete US Sega 32X collection. Not a big deal, but you have to be a Sega fan to go for that. http://www.digitpress.com/images/32x
- complete US Sega Pico collection. Hey, tell me that's not hardcore. http://www.digitpress.com/images/pico
- Halfway done with the US Saturn collection (all the rare ones are long sice out of the way). About a quarter of the Game Gear collection done... admittedly neither of these systems really "grabbed me".
Yeah, I'm bragging... but you asked!

Almost finished with my Sega CD collection... Took 4 years, but I'm almost there! I basically have all the Genesis and Dreamcast games I have ever wanted.

None complete yet but:
Total Game Gear Games: 63
Total Genesis Games: 111
Total 32x Games: 23
Total Master System Games: 110
Some of the Master System games are European/Australian. I'm about 11 or less away from a complete US collection.

Genesis = 152
Game Gear = 8
Sega CD = 15
Sega 32x = 7
Saturn = 41
Dreamcast = 233
obviously i am getting pretty close to a complete Dreamcast collection. already knocked Sonic LE off the need list, so it's pretty much smooth sailing from here. i never owned a single piece of sega hardware until june 2002. i think i've come pretty far in a fairly short amount of time. i like me some SEGA

I also collect for all systems, but have been putting more effort into SMS of late and am 3 games away from a full US release collection. I also have a SMS store demo unit. Its an big black box with an SMS inside with about 8 Cart slots and buttons on the front to select which game you want to play.
I did a quick count and am up to 188 Genisis games. I have just been picking up boxed games at thrifts and yard sales when I see them. I didn't think I had that many.
While on a trip to OK City GameXchange had a sale on Game Grear games, $2.00 each so I picked up about 60 Game Grear games.
I have some games for all of the other Sega system, including 4 for the Laseractive. The only Sega US released system that I think I still need is the CDX.

Complete US SMS collection, including a couple "Prototypes".
Highlights of my collection include:
All alex kidd games (even BMX trial)
All wonderboy games (including Megadrive Wonderboy III, and both TecToy Monica games)
I've been working on my Fantasy Zone collection, and have:
All 3 SMS Fantasy Zone games
Megadrive Super FZ (euro)
Fantasy Zone Gear (sadly loose)
Both Famicom Fantasy Zones (loose)
Sealed NES FZ
Complete Mark III FZ2, and loose FZ1
Complete PC engine FZ
Sealed TG16 FZ
"prototype" pre-release Fantasy Zone with special box & manual.
Complete Mark III Galactic Protector (FZ spin-off)
Still searching for the elusive blue label SMS FZ that came with the late release box style. (I've seen the box show up alot more than the blue label cart)
Always buying any Fantasy Zone stuff I don't already have. (if it's not too expensive)
May work on the Genesis collection a bit later on.

My collection is scattered between (too?) many systems but these are the collections I want to complete before I die:
SMS PAL games: 70/269 I imagine this would look absolutely gorgeous when ready.
Saturn PAL games: 72/240, at the moment I have more imports than PALs. :)
PlayStation PAL games: 130/~2000 :/ LOL
Treasure collection with all variants: So close... or is it? :D

The Saturn is where I do most of my collecting lots of good games, fairly cheap, More of a rare "niche" system, but not totally obscure.

Well, everybody knows I've been burning through SMS carts recently in my sale :P I still have a good number I'm keeping...about a dozen. Some of the stuff I want to get I don't have at the moment.
Sometime I need to get my SK-1100 and SG-3000 shipped outta Japan (and get an SG-1000 to match that keyboard). Gamewise I don't have anything bought besides a bare Borderline cartridge...but there's some good stuff for the system, make no mistake!
I've got a bunch of Genesis games in shoe boxes lying around, and a few bare carts in a cart storage drawer. For the Japanese Mega Drive, not quite sure what I'm at right now...I also just won some auctions for a few that Neogeoman/NFG Game Sales was selling. A small number, I'm sure, but I've got some decent titles in pretty much brand new condition, like Contra. For hardware I'm doing really well: A brand new MD, a loose Japanese Sega CD, a complete boxed Mega Jet w/Columns, two Genesis 3 units (one boxed), two loose Genesis 2 units, a Nomad (that's 7 versions of the Genesis), and a boxed Power Base Converter.
I've got a Saturn, and some blah games for it...not even sure if the Saturn works actually. Yeah, I'll be happy to get into Saturn stuff, but it's gonna be a little while until that happens. I do have the Cyberbots Limited Edition, though :D
Have a few sealed Japanese DC demos, and a bare US Kiosk unit. Got a controller, no other cables yet.
If I had to guess, I'd say that Sega stuff makes up the majority of my collection by an overwhelming majority.
Confusion...yes, confusion rules my collection at the moment. Numbers? I'll have to take a day to just get my stuff sorted around.

Right now I'm going after a complete SMS collection ( I plan of getting every game released, mixing US and UK because I don't want doubles) which will lead to me having a complete US collection.
After that I wan't to go after a complete 32x collection and that's about it. I don't plan on ever collecting for the Genesis, but if it turns out I'm like 40 and have a complete set, then that's okay :)
Also, anyone know of a good place to get complete US SMS games? I check ebay all the time but like 90% of the SMS games on there are UK.
So far I have 13 boxed SMS games and 1 cart only,
and one 32x game, cart only

I'm an SMS collector but it's tough finding games in the wild. I see one SMS game for every 200 NES games I come across. And the kicker is that the most common SMS games are the ones that suck the most :/
The highlight of my Sega collecting history is finding a complete Phantasy Star at Value Village for $3.99.

Genesis: 27

I'd say that's a very decent number of Genesis games - depends on the selection of course, but it's hard to go too terribly wrong on the system :)

Sega seems to work for me.

SMS - 133 games (includes doubles - prob 100 diff ones)
Genesis/Mega Drive - 186 games (not sure how many w/o doubles)
Saturn - 25 games - no doubles
Dreamcast - 53 different games

My Sega collection consists mostly of Genesis but here it goes:
Sega Genesis: 120
Sega Master System: 20
Sega Dreamcast: 20
Sega Saturn: 10
What got me into collecting was I decided I wanted to try and collect all 708 US released Sega Genesis game. Then I just kept buying everything video game related.

Digitpress ..... I don't want to be rude or anything, but how do you afford all of these games ? Do you have a job on top of this website? Because you must have one of the most insane collections EVER!!! The fact that you almost have a complete U.S Sega collection for all of their systems is down right rediculous! @_@

Although I am one of those “pick up whatever’s there” type of collector, I’m definitely doing a lot more Genesis collecting right now (75 boxed…not nearly as impressive as some of you other guys…I am extremely jealous ;P ). Complete Genesis games, for my area/resources, have been more plentiful/affordable when compared to other Sega stuff (CGE was the last time I’d seen Sega CD/Saturn stuff for sale in real life…when I do find a Dreamcast game, it tends to be priced higher than I am willing to spend).
In the wild, SMS stuff hits in spirts for me. It will be completely dead and then in one week I'll find a hand full scattered around different places. Go dead for a loooong time. Then bam! again. I'll end up with another 10 or so, all picked up from different sources within days/hours of each other. It is like some special SMS truck is making the rounds and dropping off used product every 6 months. *shrug*
For the record. I've NEVER seen a used 32X game in the wild (I only have 2. Doom and Virtua Racing...and I bought those with the system when it came out! =P).

Don't want complete collections and don't need them. No time, no space & no money.

I've never been interested in having complete collections since I hate sports games. The following numbers include very few to no sports games. They also mix both Japanese and US. My first system was an SMS. I love Sega:
SMS: 10
Genesis: 137
Sega CD: 11
Game Gear: 10
32X: 5
Saturn: 52
Dreamcast: 42
Sega developed titles for this generation's systems. Sega is by far my favorite developer right now:
PS2: 7
XBox: 2
GC: 1
The Insomniac
11-20-2004, 01:10 AM
Games
Dreamcast: 32 games
Saturn: 15 games
32X: 16 games
Sega CD: 7
Genesis: 31
Game Gear: 10
Master System: 55
Systems
Dreamcast made Aug. 1999
Saturn model 2
32X
Sega CD model 2
Genesis 1 made 1989
Genesis 2
Genesis 3
Nomad (works but has cracked screen, bought it that way)
Game Gear
Master System 1 made in 1986
I'm pretty selective when it comes to collecting, so I don't have as much as others. I used to have alot more but I was running out of room...

I am a pretty big fan of Sega collections. I like a system where I only have to pick up 250 (or so) games and it's complete. I find the smaller libraries much more fun to work with.
My system of choice is the Dreamcast. I had about 90 titles for it but there almost all gone. I needed the cash. I do pick up the European DC demos with the white labels when I can. They don't come up on eBay that often so I don't mind spending the money ($25 max right now). They are also an interesting subcollection I wanted to complete anyway.

saturn - way too many titles and consoles
DC - about 140+ titles plus couple of consoles latest being overclocked one
MegaCD - since I got Sega Wondermega been busy picking up things for it... :D

Well, I don't buy pre-owned games, so that pretty much leaves me with my old collection of Mega Drive games (All bought brand new at the time) and the DreamCast...
I only buy sealed games, so the DreamCast is really the only Sega Console I can collect for now. I suppose I could always go for Japanese Saturn / Mega Cd games too, but i'm focusing on the DC for the time being.
Attempting to get a complete PAL collection of DC games in factory sealed condition. To my knowledge (And Sega's knowledge) I am the only person doing this.
Might move on to American DreamCast games eventually, and maybe even Jap ones.
Over halfway now (Only 218 PAL games released) and have most the rare's out of the way. I know at least 4 people with sealed Samba De Amigo's, so it's just a matter of convincing one of them to part with it for the right price!

since everyone else said , i will put what i have.
Sega Genesis - Model 1 and 2 - about 15 complete games and 20 loose
Sega CD - the spindel broke off >.< so it's not working, and i dont have any current games.
Sega Saturn - US model 1 - Jap model 1 - Complete with box and instructions- 10 complete US games, still with foam inserts - 47 complete jap games, all with spine card, 5 still factory sealed - Arcade Stick still new in box - and interact memory card new in box.
Sega Dreamcast - original model - complete with box and instructions - 11 complete games.
I still need the SMS, I never have the money to dish out though, and I had a 32x but It was broken. Im looking for a complete nomad, and CDX system at the moment, and a complete working sega cd system, to replace my old one

I'm still mostly just going insane on getting Saturn import games right now. I have about 500 Genesis games, 150 Sega CD games, 150 Saturn games, 75 Game Gear games, and 25 32X games. Of course these are all just estimates though, I haven't counted them all in years, I'm still too busy buying more. I don't even know how many Saturn imports I have now, about 25 I think. I only had about 5 before my import binge started, so I'm binging pretty hard!

The only system I don't have is a 32x and Pico. I do have a NIB Nomad system though. I just wish I bought a couple more when Meijers was clearing them out 5 years ago for $50 each. :(
