My local news station just did a report on a new 'docugame', as the makers of the game call it.
A British company has released a interactive game -- they call it a document game -- on the anniversary today of JFK's assisantion. Called JFK Reloaded, it's on the PC. The demo allows you to fool around with it some, while the full version costs $10 to download.
Basicaly, the company had a goal -- to disprove the conspiercy beliefs about JFK's death. You assume the role of the sole sniper in the Teaxs Book Deposity in Dallas on that fatefull day and can fire into the car. The graphics are created to recreate the scene exactly. The car's rate of speed, the wind, everything else in this game has been recreated perfectly. There's even a option for blood effects.
A simulation is all fine and good, but my first reaction was that this crosses the line of being in good taste.
But then I thought, what IS in good taste these days? There are underground PC games based on 9/11 and the murder of Jews in Europe. EA made a major game based on Pearl Harbor, and even sold it in Japan!
Are there some things that you just would not play a game based on?
