Basically, how long do you think it will be before there is some type of DS player for the GameCube, so we can play DS games on a big TV?

there wont be .... at least not for the game cube. with ps3 and xbox 2 coming nintendo 5 ( or the 5th home console) might have a nice little adapter to play both DS and GBA or 2 seperate ones. but i dont see Nintendo releasigna DS adapter for the GC. doesnt mean a 3rd party company wont try it

...Ever hear of Codename "Revolution"???

Anyways it will NEVER happen... Touch Screen, no company, not even Nintendo, will try and market a DS adapter without some type of Touch Screen accessory... No company, not even Nintendo, would be willing to take the risk of releasing an actual LCD Touch Screen for use with the adapter...

To expensive, especially for an unproven system (DS), and a system that is going off the market in a year or two (GameCube).

BUT with the "revolutionary" new "Revolution" there may be some new "rovolutionary" way to play the new "revolutionary" DS on the new "revolutionary" "Revolution"

Hmm maybe that topic about a N64 adapter for the Gamecube was just a trick on Nintendos part.

Maybe they were seing if theres enough interest in N64 type games , and then they hit us with the DS Adapter with a few limitations built in. :hmm:

Nah probably not, but Nintendo is still Evil, Evil I Say !!!!!

Never. :)

Never will. Why? A few reasons: DS has a touchscreen, if they dont include a touchscreen in the adapter, consumers will be like if we dont need a touchscreen to play the game, why did Nintendo include it in the DS. DS is too new and the Cube is too old relative to shelf life.

Won't happen. However, the new VBAdaptor (with 3-D glasses) is coming out Jan 2005! You heard it here first!!!

Ben! LOL

some of us would actually buy that. *coughs*
As for a DS adapter? sadly I don't see it coming. Touchscreen is the main reason, and how the hell can you do 2 screens on a tv? they'd have to split it 2-player-mario-kart style - very tacky.

It could be done- invoke some sort of mouse pointer for the second screen within the television. It's not a matter of being technically or economically unfeasible, Nintendo just wouldn't want to dismiss the DS as a portable entity.

I imagine that's exactly how the emulators will work, however.

I can't believe that nobody has thought about this yet.

Nintendo could think of a way to play DS games on your gamecube by just using some kind of plug that plugs from your DS system to the GC, and you use your DS like a controller, then you could see the bigger projection (Screen) on your home TV.

I don't know about an adapter, but it would be cool if a third party made one ala the TV de Advance. If you used a touch screen monitor it would be doable. I'm sure the emulators will be as such.

Too bad the DS screen isn't like a Wacom tablet where you can see where the cusror is above the surface of the drawing pad before you touch it (mouse on screen moves with it).

If it were, an emu or adapter would be way easier.

I'm sure that they could make a DS-player in conjunction with some sort of eye-toy like device to make up for the touch screen aspect.

WAY WAY too early to even be considering this.

This is like in the 8th season of survivor, where on the first day, everyone is making alliances and talking about a merge. It's WAY too early for that kinda crazytalk people!

I bet that the DS will link wirelessly with the "Revolution".

No. It's going to link wirelessly with Nintendo's 9th Console system in the future. So you can be playing Zelda part 25 in the future and then the you in the present can use the tingle tuner on your wifi DS to send animal crossing part 9 data to unlock the lost levels and play a demo of Zero Racers on your Virtual Boy via the built in mechanism that Gunpei Yoko installed just in case Megaman ever caught him and threw him in jail. @_@

Come to think of it, a stylus is really like any pointing device...I don't see why a mouse wouldn't work. I suppose they could sell a DS to Gamecube (or N5) adapter with a special mouse....weird, but they could.

Personally, I think the whole 2 screens is more of a gimmick than anything. So i don't think they really need to even worry about that touch screen.

The games that really need the touch screen, just would be games that you wouldn't want to play on the adapter.

But I must admit I totally forgot about the next Nintendo console. I can't believe that they are actually going through with making another system.

What a dissaster.

Yeah it's true that games that require the touchscreen, you probably definately wouldn't want to play on the adapter.

And with your comment about the next nintendo system a dissaster, you don't think they should make any more systems??
