Making an Arcade Cabinet! and MAME-ifying it!

Okay so i have got to the point where im fed up of playing Mame on the PC and XBOX and want the real thing, a stand up Cab with REAL controls!

I have searched the net for Cab Plans but all i find are either Crap ones, Ones you have to pay for or Dead Webpages...

Does anyone have any info/blueprints/anythink related to this issue as id love to get a cab working in my room with a MAME Dedicated PC...

Also 1 last quick question, is it also possible to make it coin opperated? as id love to charge my room invading family for every time they invade my room! mwuahah!

so yeah info and plans would be greatly appreciated! and links to good online shops selling buttons, pads, sticks etc...

I highly recommend the book Project Arcade (by the folks from BYOAC). GREAT, comprehensive book on just what you're talking about.

Making it coin-operated is as easy as wiring one of the buttons. When you drop a coin in a game, it just trips a cherry switch to add a credit. Same type switch that is used on the buttons and joysticks. So all you have to do is wire the switch to the correct keyboard key for adding credits in mame.

I just ordered myself a copy of the CD WooHoo I have a mini cab but I want a fullsize. Arcade controls is by far the best site for info.

im def. considering making a mame cab to go in my basement arcade...i think ill probably just pick up a gutted cab at the next close super auctions and go from there
