I heard people saying the DS was going to be like the PS2 system and be ultra hard to find. Yet in my area we have tons of systems. My local Best Buy has had a very steady supply. Over 30 everytime I am in there. My local Ebgames is sold out all the time though. :hmm: What about your area?

BB was filled with them. I was the only one in the store when I bought feel the magic who was interested in the DS.

Toys 'r' us had 30 of them, and they sold 5 right away.

I went to a Software Etc. today in NYC and got a chance to check out the DS display model. There were only about 3/4 people in the store and none were looking at the DS. I took a gander at the Metroid game and it looked pretty nice but the lack of interest in the system is startling. I could easily see a price drop to $129.99 closer to Xmas or at least some free game deals.

went to a superstore today, and there was NO sign that they even had the DS in yet. They had one double-sided sign, Halo 2 on 1 side, the ds on the other, and the ds side was facing the wall. wtf..

Well, mine wasnt hard to find.

Wnt to EB, they were sold out.

Called Sears, the guy working didnt know what "Nintendo" was and had to go look at the shelves...he said all they had were Gamecubes.

Called Circuit City, they had em, went there and got one.

I talked to a friend who works at Sears later on that day, he said they have a TON in the back, but the people in the electronics department are so stupid that they don't know what they are doing. LOL

While the local Toys R Us hasn't been able to keep them in stock beyond five minutes of opening, I saw about 10 of them at Target tonight. I picked one up, looked at it for a little while, grumbled *why didn't you have more PDA functionality built-in" and put it back down.

Target had a nice big display for the DS and there were a few people checking them out.

I also stopped in GameStop today which had none and told me that they have had a ton of people ask about them, and then Best Buy which an employee walked out with three of them when I arrived, and they were all still there when I left about an hour later.

Most everyone I spoke to around here has already sold out of (or is only a few systems away from) at least one shipments of DS systems. Some stores like Best Buy and TRU were expecting to sell out of their second shipments yesterday (Friday).

I had pre-ordered mine at EBGames, and I was in line behind about 5 people. They had DS's and games in the glass thing behind them, and of course the lady in front me takes the last one. I tell the guy I had pre-ordered one, and he told me they were all out. :eek 2: was my expression. Really? I said, then he told me he was just joking and they had more in the back.

Man was I scared!

Everyone around here was sold out at launch time. The Gamestop I went to held one for me, cause they know me. It wasn't easy to find, and I believe they still aren't that easy to come by here.

They're everywhere around where I live. I saw 40-50 at my Target last night & had to laugh.

My Hastings has them and some sort of promotion where you get 25 free rentals with the purchase of a DS (or any game system). It's the best deal I've seen yet, but I haven't read the fine print.

Same as at Game Crazy u get 12 free rentals but 25 rentals is nice lol .... game crazy also will give ya a holidays coupon book which is a lil bit nice some savings in there but the bad side is that the coupons must be used between 12/26/04-1/8/05 which sucks :(
