i will be able to answer ur question on Dec 25th ;-)
dads got me one, i had to test it last week and all i can say is WOW!
this lil handheld is absolutely amazing!
I highly recommend one, there is a NES emu called Little John (wierd Name i know!) but that works great, even does SNES emulation pretty well too... The Megadrive emulation is good too!
Also if ur a fan of monkey island type games u wont b disapointed!
also jsut as a lil note, some has made their own version of smash brothers called Smash GP, this is still in development but its amazing!

I have an unlit one and a couple of games. I'm not really impressed with the games for the system but it does emulation very well. I mainly use my GP32 for Atari 2600 emulation and MP3's.

The BLU (Back Lit Unit) is the best of the bunch.
The screen is really nice and sharp and bright. It is MUCH better than the FLU (Front Lit Unit) .
I would reccomend getting one of the 180mhz guaranteed versions. Then you can play Genesis and Snes at Full Speed/ With Sound. ( Well 95% of the games anyway)
And the screen is much bigger than the GBA , so you can see all the Nes games fine on the Little John Emulator.
Just a side note : The Tapwave Zodiac has a larger and brighter screen . It also does Snes, Nes, Genesis , full screen with some type of screen blending (smooths out the graphics). The only thing is , the Genesis and Snes is a little bit behind the GP32. You'll have to use the FrameSkip option a little more. And of course it costs $299.00 , But to me the larger screen and better sound is well worth it.

Nope. Sorry. I've only got a FLU version.
Apart from the obvious - What is the difference? Which is the better out of the BLU and FLU versions?
Tell you what! It's hard to believe that any hand held console ever came without some sort of lighting! How the GameBoy ever survived an onslaught from the Lynx and Game Gear still amazes me!!! (Apart from the size issue of course!)
It's even hard to think th GBA came without a light!
Just think - The world would be so different if your Ngage or GBA SP didn't have a light in it!
And those massive light magnifiers were a real pain in the ass! Lol LOL

I've said this before, but even the regular GP32 screen is better than a front lit GBA screen. I've never used a GBA SP, but I personally cannot believe the GBA ever sold a single unit. I tried it indoors, I tried it outdoors, I tried it with regular lights, halogen lights, and a flashlight. Nothing I did made the GBA screen look good. I sold my GBA after owning it for only two months.
The GP32, on the other hand, looks pretty good to me. I'm sure the FLU and BLUs look even better, but the standard GP32 looks pretty good to me. I've never used a Zodiac but I hear it looks even better.
There are lots of threads around here with my views on the GP32 so I won't go into it again. Sufficie it say, if you like the Atari 2600, 5200, Commodore 64, Atari ST, NES, SNES, Genesis, NGPC, etc. then you will love the GP32.

Especially if you have a BLU that overclocks to 208mhz. :-P

That should help you on the differences of the screens. I love my Gp32. :lovin: I have one from when the system was first released and I haven't put it down since.
