Pocket Kingdom:
http://arena.n-gage.com/n-gage/web/en/pocketkingdom/gameinfo.jsp

It's a online RPG which can be played offline and has been developed by SEGA. It's graphic is drop dead gorgeous! But then I happens to love Breath of Fire 3! *doh* It can be played offline too in classic RPG style.

What do you think have the Nokia N-Gage finally got their first must have game?

As the N-Gage QD is a fairly cheap cell phone maybe this is something to get, I have seen that there are a couple of NES and GB emulators available for it. :hmm:

Sega was also making another rpg that looked like it could be good. Can't remember the name right now but i'll look for some links.

Well you can basically get an n-gage for free now:
Posted on gamespy forums
"If you get a QD on Amazon with a service plan, it actually costs less than $0 because the amount they give you in rebates outweighs the cost of the QD.

If you get it on AT&T through Amazon.com, you get a free QD AND you get $100, for example. On T-mobile you get a free QD and $50.

QD on T-mobile:

QD on AT&T:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000630M2W/

...and they've also got Cingular but you have to pay $9.99 for that QD:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0002UBZ48

If you're wondering what the catch is, it's that you have to sign up for a service plan and the phone companies hope they'll make their money back from your phone bills."

from what I'm reading, if you DONT get a plan for it you can still essentially buy one for just fifty bucks. Iiiiinteresting.

do you need a plan for the QD at all?

I live in EU not US and there arn't any hot N-Gage deals here, in fact I think that N-Gage is Nokias most unpopular cell phone so not many stores even got them in stock.

Anyway this game may put the N-Gage on to the retro collectors wish lists in year 2009, like Tempest 2000 did with the Jaguar.

Hmmm....I've been toying with the idea of getting one of these things. They may not be popular NOW....but what if the software starts adding up and it takes off?

That's a pretty cool looking game, I could see myself buying that and getting the system later.

well, colin mc rae 2005 rocks on the n-gage, pathway to glory and requiem of hell are really good, and there's an elder scrolls game on the way (you guys who are interested in the unit and those that constantly bash it should check out the official site www.ngage.com for more info...) :D

Yeah, Colin McRae is really fun... and of course Super Monkey Ball is great. Playing Mame, NES, Gameboy, and all the other emulators on it is pretty sweet too! I would have never considered this system if it wasn't for the people on this forum, but now that I got it, I'm VERY impressed.

I picked it up for $60 used at Gamestop, and I think I see why it's failing... the employees at all the game stores laugh at me for even being interested in it... if I hadn't been sure that I wanted it when I walked in there, I would have never left there with one. It also doesn't help that the couple stores that still have the system on display don't have them on... and I figured out why. I asked to see what used games they have, and the only ones they had were "not for sale" cards, so they're selling their store demo games :P .

If I came across one for $50 I'd bite. I don't want the original though--the QD or nothin'. I hear its improved vastly since the initial launch. It interested me when it first came out, but after playing Pandemonium and Tomb Raider, I was completely turned off to the system as a whole. If it has a couple games worth playing (as it seems to now), I'd pick one up.

Let me know when I can get the QD model without a service plan. There are a couple games (like this one and the Elder Scroll's game) that I'm interested in.

I saw another N-Gage commercial last night. They even said you could get it for free with all the deals they have for it now. I might be getting a new cell phone in a few months, so if there are a decent amount of good games by then, I may seriously look into one.

I was leafing though an issue of Computer Gaming World and I saw an article about Rifts a tactical RPG for the N-Gage. It's based on the pen and paper system and looked pretty cool too.

I dunno between that, pocket kingdom, and elder scrolls an N-Gage is starting to sound pretty appealing.

I'm going to pass on the DS but might pick up an N-gage after Christmas. I played one in a store while out Christmas shopping last week and thought that it was a rather neat looking gizmo. (unfortunately they had The Sims running on it and I don't like those games) I didn't check the price (Canadian) because I wasn't considering one but if it's reasonable I'm in, since I also don't own a cel phone yet.

the game looks amazing and all, but do you have to pay the regular cell phone service AND ngage arena fee? is it really worth it?

I actually got sent a Pocket Kingdoms press kit with a beta copy of the game and a free N-Gage QD.

Honestly, it's far from a must-have title. It's really just a simple little game where you buy and rank up units. There's no real substance to it at all. Just trying to assemble the best party to send into battle. You don't actually control the fighting either, you just watch your team slug it out and hope they win.

I got a t-shirt too that says "I <3 PK." It's pretty cool.

I personally like the original better than the QD just because I don't ever plan on using it as a phone (I have Sprint which won't work with the NGage), and I just bought a large MMC to store all my games and stuff on, so I won't need to swap out MMCs ever, and those two things are the only bad things about the original... The QD removed the radio, MP3 player, and the USB port, which kinda sucks IMO (although I'm sure there are MP3 players for the Symbian OS that you can install, and you can always use a MMC card reader).

In case you haven't read it, here's a comparison: http://www.n-gage.com/en-US/gamedeck/

And yeah, if you're wanting to use it just as a game system and not as a phone, ebay or used is really your best bet... because the QD costs $200 at the store, and although you don't need to activate the QD (includes a dummy sim card), you get a $150 rebate for signing up for $25/month service, and an extra $50 for $40/month service... The thing you do have to remember if buying a used system is that it REQUIRES a sim card to boot (doesn't have to be active), so make sure either it includes one, or buy one (you can usually get them at the phone places in the mall for under $20).

It may be a "want-to-have" title, but it still doesn't make the N-Gage a must-have system.

so when a auction says the system is "unlocked" that means it can be used as a phone?
