I've been working on the x68000 section. If you've got a minute, please read over my End Goals and tell me what you think:
- A description which explains what it's a port of (if it isn't an original game) in every case (i.e. "port of the classic Jaleco samurai sidescrolling sword battle game")
- Is it (a) bad (port)? What's unique or changed?
- Anything unusual about the packaging? I always struggle a bit with this one, but I do think it's going to be a while before x68K counterfeiters show up :P
- What does it require or work with? Should be carefully worded - does the game REQUIRE something or does it just use it if available (need help with the Japanese)?
- Include screenshots, insert scans, and photographs where applicable.
I'd like to make it clear that I'm really no expert, but I've been as exhaustive as possible. However, that has problems, as demonstrated above...
So far I have two "series" more or less completed (Dempa/Micomsoft Video Game Anthology series and the Sharp Computer Software series), and good information on lots of other stuff. It's going to be very difficult to get top-notch info because even for these series there aren't any hard and fast rules - the Video Game Anthology series has Namco written three different ways depending on which one you're looking at :P
So the problem is having too MUCH important information for certain titles. I can boil the information down, and I have, but I don't think that really cuts it...that's a project for another website, possibly. However, I'd like to get as much onto DP as possible. It's the convenience of doing everything in one stop that I'd like to achieve.
I'd also like to say that I have a good bearing on accessories, as well.
Finally, thanks to the following people in particular:
"Neogeoman" of NFG Game Sales who has a really good website on x68K hard data,
16-bit/Mad-Gear LLC, "Dream Passport Japan"/Dream Stage JP, and the other eBay sellers who have listed tons of good x68K software for me to look at in the cases where I don't have it,
and the Game TZ crew for helping with a few romanizations thus far - I'll possibly be sending more their way,
GaijinPunch, who's been really helpful and will also be getting a more comprehensive version of things...possibly I'll just take my original scope from here and that'll appear on Japanese Gaming, instead, and DP gets the bare-bones version...we'll see,
and more folks who I've forgotten but whom helped me along a whole lot.
