Neo-Geo Pocket Color/Dreamcast Link Up

So the g/f got me a NGPC and I have heard that it is linkable to the Dreamcast. I have a few questions about this since I'm new to anything Neo-Geo and a search on Google didn't turn up much.

What can be done by linking the two systems? Which game(s) supported it?

you can save ur data on dreamcast for a couple games, unlock a few new features (characters, levels) in king of fighters and match of the millenium. I have been looking for a cable, but they are a little too expensive for my taste, like 30-40 dollars.

It's compatible with verrrrrry few titles.

In King of Fighters Dream Match '99, you can upload from KoF R2, SNK Vs. Capcom, or Card Fighters Clash to unlock artwork from the real KoF '99. It's not really worth it. You can also download points to KoF R2 to unlock special moves for your created character, which is a bit more worth it.

Capcom Vs. SNK lets you upload points from both SNK Vs. Capcom games, which makes unlocking things in Capcom Vs. SNK a lot easier.

The Japan-only releases Cool Cool Jam and Cool Cool Toon link up as well, but I have no idea what happens when you do that.

All linkups are mentioned in the NGPC guide. Not sure if they are in the online version on the site tbh, but they are in the printed Advance publication (and I should know, I went and looked them all up to put in it!).
