You forgot to mention that it also has one of the worse translations and voice acting in recent memory, but thats also half the fun of the game too. :D Man I couldn't stop laughing the first time I got to the second level boss and her Asking if I thought she was sexy in such broken english. LOL

The retail price is $10. Gamestop doesn't carry it, but EBgames does. I don't know about the print run, won't even speculate about it, but since the game is for a niche market it is certainly on the low side.

I bought it last week at EB and they had one copy.

it is a fun title, strange, certainly quirky dialogue, and a typical fun overhead shooter. The letterbox format is small, I had to sit very close on my 27" TV to enjoy the game. (the horizontal option, like for all of these kind of games, is confusing when it comes to control)

I'll go for these titles not because of possible future rarity, but because I regard them as representatives of one of two truly timeless genres -- 2D space shooters and RPGs.

It wasnt listing on either Gamestop or EB's website. But Walmart has it. 9.88 but they are listing its release as 12/3. Oh well, 11 and change for it being shipped with tax is fine by me.

My local EB got only one copy as well, and thankfully I got it.

Definately worth the money, I'ce had a blast playing it.. It's too bad I seem to suck at it.

SUPPORT XS GAMES!

Pretty pointless. Though it does add to the fun factor of the game, seeing as how your most likely going to br laugh your ass off listening to it. LOL

It's worth $10. :)

Walmart.com must be out of stock now - I ordered it from there on Nov 23 and got a shipping confirmation on Nov 26. The 97 cent shipping was nice, but it is the slowest shipping I've seen in a long time, as the confirmation says it will arrive Dec 8-14.

You guys had me running scared, so I broke down and bought one last night at the EB down the street. The problem was that the two salesgirls behind the counter didn't know what the hell I was talking about. As usual, they don't play games and don't understand why anybody would look for anything with such a weird name. I had to physically reach over the counter to point out that it had been placed in alphabetical order next to a copy of Conflict: Vietnam.

Like the one who just looked at me with astonishment/confusion when I asked her if a used copy of Go-Go Hypergrind came with a manual on Black Friday morning. She came to work at 6:00 a.m. looking like she was on her way to a night club (or on her way back from one)... :hmm:

Now, if I had been holding a string of shiny beads, I probably would have gotten her full attention!

Guess I'll be heading over to EB tonight, asking for "the new Mobile Light Force game", and waiting for the confusion to abate.

I don't know what gets into me sometimes. Last time I was at a Gamestop I ended up asking a clerk "why is the town of Silent Hill so friggin' evil?" He flat out said he didn't know, because he only plays Resident Evil. Lame-o!

Actually XS games was kind enough to rename the bomb/special the "Moble Light Force 3" attack. Seriously. I about peed myself when I saw that.

I LOVE SHMUPS....ABSOLUTELY DO! So I really want this game. But why is it that i'd never heard of Mobile Light Force? I mean I've seen it for sale, but it sure didn't look like a shooter to me. How comparable is this one to Ikaruga and M.U.S.H.A.? Also, I was wondering, exactly how much is EB Games charging for this game? Is it the $10 that WalMart is charging? Or is that just a sale price? I can't find mention of this game anywhere for sale except WalMart and a mention on IGN.com. I'm really interested in this game...just wondering if I should go for it !?

I picked it up last night for the PS2 at EB. Definately worth $10. It's a very cool looking game, though I haven't heard any of the voice acting yet, maybe I just don't have the volume turned up enough. I really like the wealth of game option you have, and it kinda reminds me of Strikers 1945, which I love. It's also cool that there is an option that makes you turn your monitor.

Two questions, what is the unlockable option right above the "option" on the menu screen, and how do you beat the square boss in level 3 (I think?)? I couldn't get that boss down more than half life.

Games like this one and Alien Hominid make me want an X-Arcade stick soo bad.

CHRONOTRIGGAFOO:
EB is selling the game for $9.99

MLF 1 and 2 is XS Games' original butchering of Gunbird (PS1) and Shikigami no Shiro (PS2). If you're familiar with either of those in their original forms, then stay the hell away from either MLF title and stick with the originals.

i compaired it to ikaruga...a good game

this game seemed similar yet it lacked....everything this game did, ikaruga did it better

i just couldnt get interested in this game...plus the voice acting and scripting was horrible (i know that was mentioned...i didnt think it would be that bad)

Your ROOMMATE didn't like it? Well shit, I shouldn't even waste my time on this thing then.

Can anyone confirm if MILF 2000 (http://sardius.fefea.org/piccys/milf2000.jpg) is a playable character or not? He's my favorite character from Mobile Light Force, and if he's in MLF3, I might have to ignore the warnings of Some Guy's Roommate and buy it anyway.

Don't forget that MLF 1 & 2 aren't part of the same series. MLF is a slaughtered version of Ginbird while MLF2 is a butchered version of Shikigami no Shiro so, no, he isn't in MLF3. Valnus isn't in Gunbird 2 either but Valpiro (http://www.vgmuseum.com/end/arcade/b/gb2valpiro2-5.png) is.

Finally got a chance to play this last night.

GREAT game for TEN BUCKS!

It's NOTHING like Ikaruga. Please don't compare it to that. There are actually very few games that you can compare to Ikaruga. This one is certainly more of an upgrade to Gunbird or as someone else stated, similar in play to Strikers 1945.

The voice acting is hilarious. No really... like Plan Nine From Outer Space hilarious. I'm going to play through it just to hear them all :)

It's tough but that's to be expected.

SHMUPS fans... just go get it!

That's where I was headed by asking. Granted, I'm probably more of a shmup freak than your average gamer, but I think Iky and Castle Shigami are apples and oranges. Iky is much more in the spirit of a "thinking man's shmup" like R-Type where you have to memorize enemy patterns and pay close attention to the environement. Shikgami is manic where the emphasis is on adrelenin rush game play and rewarding the player for taking chances and being a bit reckless.

I know your average gamer wouldn't see that much difference, but it really does both games a disservice by compairing them like that because while they're both shmups, the idea behind them is different.

Oh yeah, Xbox version, import only, AFAIK.

I'm another satisfied Castle Shikigami 2 customer, and I must say that after my brief playtime with the Dreamcast version of Ikaruga you can't really compare the two for the reasons that the Captain listed.

I say that if your a fan of shumps go out and get CS2, it's a decent game and it's only $10, just don't compare it to Ikaruga, accept it for what it is.

I love the confusion engendered by U.S. localization. KJN is 100% correct. Just like Strikers 1945 (http://www.agetec.com/products.asp?MyView=Shooting&ProductID=50&ProductName=Strikers+1945) was never released in the U.S. @_@

And I know of two EBs in town that have MLF3, er, I mean, CS2.

One last thing. Ikaruga is cool, and quite an achievement, but god save us from all shooters aspiring to be Ikaruga.
