Starcade was a game show that ran for two seasons in the early '80s, where contestants competed by answering trivia questions about video games to earn the right to play the coin-ops they were best at, and then by playing the games and trying to score the most points. The show aired on television stations across the USA, generally in a Saturday morning or early afternoon time slot. It featured the hottest video games of that time.
The series which was hosted by Mark Richards during its first year, and then veteran game show host Geoff Edwards for its second year. Here's a bit of trivia: none other than Alex Trebek (Jeopardy) was the host for the second, never-aired pilot of the series. But the games are the real stars of Starcade.
