I read somewhere recently (probably here) that the Game Genie for SNES won't work on some later consoles, and sure enough it wouldn't on a couple of mine. I'm wondering what the differences are between the different console revisions or whatever. I have my original model 1 that allows the game genie, a newer model 1 that doesn't, and a model 2 that won't either. I took apart the 2 model 1's and noticed that the older one has a heavier board, with what appears to be extra stuff near the expansion slot (SHVC-SOUND written on metal shielding). Are there any other differences, performance-wise, that I should be aware of? I'm just wondering if there's any need to keep the different revisions. Any info is appreciated!

the part of the pcb your talkin about is the Sound area on some pcb this is melded as 1 board on others its a plug n play module

and i havent experienced this error on any of the snes ive modified.. try pulling the copy protection pin up in the air and se if it works.
