I'm pretty sure that this is now known as "Puppy Times". Looks cute!

I like how much it uses the touch screen, don't get me wrong. But it doesn't look like a game that will hold my attention for any longer then a week. Its just a more advanced tamagatchi. If you can train them to compete in dog shows, I might be intrested.

It does look interesting... You can teach the dogs tricks, and have them perform them by talking into the microphone, but like MarioAllStar2600 said, unless there's some depth into it, I'm not too interested.

Well, its first public showing was at E32k4, but it was a tech demo then. It as become a full-scale game since.

Fire Dogs SNES goes to DS? LOL (Second thought after reading the title - first was "Nintendo GS Whaaa?")

I like this title.
I also like many of the other "Tech Demo's" they had at E3. Many look kick ass. I hope they all make their way to the DS in some form or another.

It'll be a nice collectable at least. So what if it's a sort of advanced virtual pet? It's nice looking and far cooler than a Tomagotchi..

would be interesting if they made is as involved as Seaman, but not as strict. If it's simply playing with them, then yeah, might get old quick. But, I'm a sucked for cure animals, I just wish it was NintenCats instead, but Dogs are cool too.
Or Maybe NintenFish! NintenIgauna! NintenHampsters!

Yeah, if it were like Sea-Man where they're born and grow up, it'd be interesting. Either way, I'll buy it on uniqueness alone.

Time to bump this up... I dunno how the game will be released here, but in Japan, there are 3 different Nintendogs packs with different dogs.
Here's the different sets:
1. Dachshund set:
Dachshund
Pugs
Yorkshire Terriers
Miniature Schnauzers
German Shepherds
2. Chihuahua set:
Chihuahua
Cavalier King Charles Spaniels
Labradors
Beagles
Shih Tzu
3. Shiba set:
Shiba
Shetland Sheepdogs
Welsh Corgies
Toy Poodles
Miniature Pinshers
It's not known yet what differences there will be in terms of breeds for the North American release, but most of these breeds are sure to make it here. I'd probably pick up the Dachshund set because of the schnauzer (which looks a bit like my late dog Zappa, who was a bouvier des Flandres).
And obviously, no particularly big breeds available. I wish there was a "big dogs" set as well. That'd be fun.

As much as I don't think that this game looks that interesting, it did get a perfect score in Famitsu magazine in Japan, which is quite a feat, to say the least!

BTW, it is believed that the NA version won't be released in separate sets, but rather have some dogs as unlockables instead. Of course, it's mostly speculation...

I think that this is definitely one of those innovative titles that makes the DS look like it could be very slick. This is the reason that I am happy that Nintendo is still around as a first party publisher -- I don't think any other company would've taken a risk on such a risky, stupid looking idea. By the replies in this thread, half of us think it looks awesome and the other half think it looks about as dumb as it can be, but those half that are interested by it will remember it as a possible DS future purchase.
Innovation is the bringer of more hardware sales. Nintendo needs more of these for the DS to continue to excell, but I think this looks pretty interesting.

I've read a (german) review of some gamer and it looks that it really deserves the perfect famicom score.
He claims that it is really unique in terms of gameplay and it uses the DSs capilities perfectly.A true masterpiece from Shigeru Miyamoto.

My wife wants me to get a DS JUST for this game. She hasn't been this excited about a game since Tetris DX came out on the Gameboy Color. I've been holding off on a DS until now, but I'll be getting one as soon as this hits the shelves. It looks like something I might enjoy playing a bit too. I think two people can have their dogs "play" if you have two DS systems. Kinda cool anyways. I'd rather have this than some port of a four year old racing game.

I have seen this before too. I, as well as the rest of you, can't wait to get this game as well!

Yup. This is the only game that has a chance of selling me a DS. My wife likes it, too. She's a pug fanatic (we've got two). She's never cared about games, but she told me I should get it. This and Raze's Hell :hmm:

I want this game six times, it will probably be the reason I get a DS, unless FF III comes out first.

Nintendo definitely ringing it doggy style in Japan this week LOL
Sales of over 150k for the game and almost 100k for DS units shows this has gone down like Pokemon related crack in the land of the Rising Sun. If it does as well in the West as it is going to do over there, then big up to the Ninty.

I saw these 3 sets advertised for the last week or two on various sites....I was wondering what the hell it is. By Miyamoto, eh? Well, I will definitely give this a look. It definitely has my interest now.
I really didn't think it would come to the US when I saw the ads, but if/when it does, I too do not believe they will release all 3...the average american simply cannot comprehend such a notion, heh heh. Im sure enough parents went apeshit when they found out they needed to buy 2 Pokemons! LOL

I hope they do come out wiith all three here for collecting purposes. But I also wish they would just merge them all from a tightwad who can't decide which to get point of view.

Raze's Hell is coming out for the DS?!?
Nope. It's just another game she said she wants me to get in general. It's weird because she really doesn't care about games. Nintendogs I can understand, but that Raze's Hell should also appeal to her when nothing else ever has is kinda strange. She doesn't know a DS from a Xbox, so she probably thought they were on the same system when she told me to get them.
