best lightgun available for XBOX?

Hi all,

I am looking into buying House of the Dead III for XBOX and need a good lightgun to play it with. Anyone have suggestions for the best one in terms of durability, performance, etc? In my limited research, it seems the Madcatz Blaster is a quality product. Any and all replies are appreciated.

As far as I know you have a fairly limited search ahead of you. I believe Mad Catz is the sole creator of light guns for the Xbox. Given that only about 2 games really use it (HotDIII and Starsky & Hutch), I guess it's not a really lucrative market.

I own the mad catz and the silent scope rifle myself. the silent scope rifle kinda stinks it up. Have to turn up the birghtness higher than normal on the rifle. the Mad cats gun is nice, but, I have noticed that you have to calibrate the gun very close to the screen, kinda like cheating in duckhunt. it works pretty well after that though.

I forgot all about the Silent Scope rifle and subsequently, Silent Scope. It'd be hard to blame me though, I think most consumers did the same. ;)

i had problems with my xbox and light guns... i was trying to use it on MAME but only 1 axis worked (the vertical one) :/
anyone have any idea why? was it my tv? the mod chip? NTSC/Pal differences?
