View Full Version : Colecovision on Ebay
Hi all, I'm a big time Atari 5200 fan who also likes some of the classic 2600 games (though I no longer have my 2600). I've had my 5200 since it first came out and play it all the time but I've always been intrigued by the "competition" that was the ColecoVision. I've never had one and only played it a few minutes at the store displays back in the dark ages. I know it was a good system and I'm thinking of taking the plunge as a Xmas present to myself. This auction caught my eye but I have no idea if this is a bargain, a decent price, or a rip-off. Any advice would be appreciated.

that seems pretty reasonable, I sell colecovision lots all the time on ebay for 250-300 dollars. If you are looking for one I can sell you a lot through the forums, [with all the games and everything], just PM me and we can work out the details.

I am very big into the ColecoVision. Feel free to check my website out with some of the mods and refurbishing work I perform on them.

I constantly go through Ebay auctions looking for ColecoVision stuff and I have noticed that one a couple of times. It's a nice lot, and if you really have to have everything in a box, it's probably an o.k. deal, but it's a bit pricey for me.
There really aren't any "rare" ColecoVision games in the lot, but there are a helluva lot of common Atari games though.
With almost 2 days left, I forsee that lot going for a lot more than it is at right now. Good Luck.

Since you don't really have any first hand experience I would suggest you
save a few bucks and bid on an auction that does not include the original
boxes. Also like most accessories the games for the wheel, roller controller
and super action sticks are few and generally not worth playing unless you
are a collector IMHO. But having said all that, you will probably grow to love
the CV as a companion to the 5200. The quality and style of games are very
similar and there are many great acrade games that are CV exclusives.
Between the two consoles you have pretty much all of the great arcade
games up to 1984.

I also can do CV repairs, and A/V S-video mods, BIOS mods. I'm in Canada.
The CV is a great system.
