I am a terrible FPS player. I can have fun playing Metroid Prime and Halo (1 or 2 for each), but I'm pretty much limited to those.

Playing Morrowind GOTY on Xbox now... can't get into at all. I don't understand any of it, started at least 10 new games
Street Fighter 2010, never gotten past the first level.
Metal Gear (NES version) same as above I have no problem with the MSX version... at first.
:embarrassed: And this is sad, took me 2 years to beat one of my favorite games... Super Mario RPG! (granted I only had access to it every 2 weeks... but Still 2 years July 1996 - May 1998)
Being that I cut my gaming teeth later and began in 3D on the N64, I am really bad at systems that are pre-N64. I have the utmost respect for those of you who can dominate a retro game. I play them and I AM getting better....but that era of gaming took insane skills.
Modern era? I tend to have trouble with The Grand Theft Auto games. I'll breeze a mission......have trouble with the next one.....and breeze the one after it. I also wish that I could play the "VietNam" games.....but the CPU guys in my unit see and kill an enemy that I can't even spot.

i suck pretty bad at rpg's.
i love arcade games, because they are quick and you can get an entire game in super quick. rpg's take like 80+ hours to beat, damn thats too much time

RPG's for me as well... I have all sorts of hell with them. I got Phantasy Star new from Toys R Us when I was liitle, my first RPG. I had played that game for over a year before I found out how to get the roadpass. What irritated me so bad is that I distinctly remember trying to buy the "Secrets" from the second hand shop guy in the port town the first day I played it. I asked him nicely and he said he didn't know what I was talking about so I moved on, looking for something that didn't exist. How was I supposed to know you had to pester the bastard and ask to buy the secrets 3 times before he finally coughed up. Well at least Alis had a bukoo of Meseta, 15 levels and the best equipment from the stores I could get to without a roadpass, before I finally got it. Oddly enough Phantasy Star (and 4) is one of my favorite games.
I've also found that I just don't have a taste for the tempo in most RPG's. I hate talking to the NPC's. I hate the "Fetch me my slippers" quests. I dispise power leveling. I don't understand the attraction in "completism". I have a dislike of FMV's every 5 minutes and intolerably long summons/spells. IMO if you want a great epic, draws you in and won't let go, story... read a good book.

I'm pretty bad at racing games for unknown reasons, but I am AWFUL at any fighting game you can name. My feeble brain cannot comprehend having to input specific button combinations quickly. I'm a punching bag.

ISS Pro Evolution - I can't score to save my life. I can play the game fine, and prevent anyone else from winning, but can't score.

my secret shame: I suck at Mario games.
If there's a hole, I fall in it. If there's a bomb, I blow myself up with it.
It's pretty rediculous.
Mind you, I did beat Mario and Luigi...No holes to fall in :)

Any massive multiplayer games ie Final Fantasy IX, Galaxies, Ever Crack. I'm not going to spend hundreds of hours so I can defeat a Bat.

You got up to level fifteen before you got the roadpass??? That's nuts! Isn't Alis alone that entire time, too?

I really sucked at Metal Gear for the NES and Metal Gear Solid for the Playstation. I never picked up another title in the franchise ever since.
I also sucked at playing any Tomb Raider.

original arcade Asteroids.
No matter what strategy or how many times I play.. I STILL suck at it. I have a hard time even getting a single extra man to this day! :embarrassed:

Street Fighter 2010, never gotten past the first level.
Metal Gear (NES version) same as above I have no problem with the MSX version... at first.
SF2010 starts off hard and gets easier after a couple of levels The first level leads many to believe thatthe game sucks. Once you get past that part, the game starts to get AWESOME. Don't pass on this game. It's very good. Once I got past the first level, I think I beat the game in 1 or 1 1/2 days. Seriously..very good game for it's time. Capcom stole a lot of Ninja Gaiden elements for this game.
Metal Gear pissed me off as a kid when I just got it. I sucked at it for about a month...got nowhere...didn't really try tho. So I decided to finally try to go get that gun. Once I got a gun I beat the game in 6 days.
Man, I can't believe you got Alis to level 15 before getting a roadpass. DAMN! Now that's torture...just WOW.

RPG's...I'll fight and fight without being concerned of levels gained or experience...or if I need this one spell or attack to defeat this guy or whatever....
I always go in optimistic like "Hey...its ok...I have some revive...this boss will be easy"

Me, I just never got into that game because the controls feel so awkward. Maybe I just don't have the patience anymore to get used to them.

So what you're saying is that you hate Xenogears and Final Fantasy, not RPGs. :)

Oy yoy yoy... after years of searching, I think I have finally found a game that I utterly, completely, and absolutely suck at... and it's been around since 1983. I can't be the only one here that sucks horrendously at DRAGON'S LAIR. :embarrassed:
Can someone confirm my suspicion? I bet this is a game that takes years of practice to conquer, but I'm not sure if I have that time. Can't stay at the arcade forever, you know.

I suck pretty bad at most shoot em ups. Games like Gradius and Life force seem near impossible to me, although I did beat S.C.A.T. without lossing a life and I consider that a pretty hard shooter.

Well sorta.. more like route memorization. But I agree.. I still can't finish the last level on the arcade version :)

I'm horrible at Pen Pen Tricelon. I wish I wasn't. Also I'm not good at most scrolling platformers. :(
Pen Pen was apparently one of the Dreamcast's children's games. I never could understand that. It can get fairly difficult in later stages. The little buggers cheat like hell.
