Michigan Collector Meet 12/18

It's been months since we've had one, so I've decided to take it upon myself to try and organize one, for the DP crew and the AA peeps alike.
Location: Pinball Petes, for that seems to be the most popular destination. The Ann Arbor one, obviously. The address is as follows, in case you've never been-

Date: Saturday, December 18th. I'm thinking about 3 pm for the *official* starting time, but I expect that people would be arriving before and after. As usual, it'll run until people well, go home.

I suggest bringing some trade stuff as well, we can have a meet for that either in the parking structure again, or in the arcade itself (with their picnic tables). In general though, I'm just looking for a good time in a hectic season.

I agree with Perk, retail is killing the notion of going. I'd love to hit Pete's again, and take Tune over to Wizzywig too. I'll have to look into the next one.

I was just thinking about running another one myself, but its better if you do it, so I dont have to worry about anything important other than showing up. My work schedual isnt made out yet, so I'll make sure to get that day off. I dont think it will be as populated as the last meet, but it will be fun nonetheless.

Big crowds = no playing time for me. About half of the people had brought controllers in with them, which was really cool to see. I think if I ever learned to play decently, I'd want to do it with the controller.

I'm down for what ever and I know some other hardcore gamers that would like to hang out too. We're all out around Garden City, Westland, Dearborn area. We also hang out at Game SPOT in Garden City (not game STOP) Its a gaming store that sells games and alot of import stuff too.

I'm down for what ever and I know some other hardcore gamers that would like to hang out too. We're all out around Garden City, Westland, Dearborn area. We also hang out at Game SPOT in Garden City (not game STOP) Its a gaming store that sells games and alot of import stuff too.

Generally speaking, hang out, talk, play some games, and do some trading if enough people bring stuff to get rid of. For all the collectors in Michigan though, getting a good sized meet only happens like every other time. The exception to this is Robotron's nigh-weekly Friday Night Gaming, but that's not so much collectors as just gamers in general.

I'm thinking I may throw something together again in March maybe, when it's a bit warmer, and there's no nasty holidays to get in the way. Plus it gives plenty of time for people to recommend places. So far we've done Pinball Petes and Marvins, and of the two, Marvins had almost no one show up, and Petes, well, gets old every time.

American Fun Center in Oakland Mall would be a good choice. They've got a bunch of DDR machines, along with Guitar Freaks, Percussion Freaks, Beatmania III, and even In The Groove. Plus they've got a track ball Ultracade, SvC Chaos, some sort of Initial D, and possibly Tekken 5 (not sure about that - the Westland location has it for sure though). And of course a bunch of other various games too. It's a really nice mall as well.

the only bonus of going to oakland mall is that it's 15 min away from my house =P

I've been to Game Spot many times.

I went to the Marvin's meet. I never seem to make it to Pete's though. something last minute always bites me.

I know 2 people that work at Westland. I was just there hanging out with my friend and YES they do have Tekken 5 though I haven't played it yet.
