I just signed onto Xbox Live, and they've added 3 more playlists to optimatch. Team Training, Rumble Training, and *gasp* Team Slayer. The last of these is ranked on the game and website. Nothing like fresh content for a game. Just wanted to give you guys a heads up.

I'm almost embarassed to admit that I've already sold Halo 2 (on eBay for $40). Loved the single player game, but I've got too many good Live games right now that I simply prefer the pacing on (Battlefront, Ghost Recon 2, RS3: Black Arrow) to the mad-dash action of Halo 2. Call me crazy, but I did it.

Different strokes. I for one sold Battlefront soon after buying it. It was a fun game, so long as you're not planning on playing any clan matches in it. The frontend on that game was so horrible. Maybe they've patched it, but it was pretty bad for the first few weeks. I've heard good things about GR2 and RS3:BA, but given my current fixation on Halo (especially clan matches) I see neither getting so much as a rental any time soon. Rather unfortunate timing on Ubisoft's part, because I'd probably play GR2 if Halo 2 weren't so active.

They didn't patch the frontend for Battlefront, but it seems that people have adapted to it and understand it's limitations. If you find the free time, I highly recommend GR2, as the clan support is nearly as advanced as Halo 2's (seriously), and the pace is so much slower it's a nice compliment to Halo 2. Additionally, there is so much action on GR2 that it has already earned the #2 spot on the Microsoft list of all-time most popular Live games (behind Halo 2 of course).

Yeah, as I understand it, if you're playing on Live and want an incredible experience, your best bets as far as publishers are Microsoft and Ubisoft. They both not only publish great games but actually provide fixes and downloads for their games, something other publisher (ATARI) never get around to. I might check into it, but going into the Christmas season I'm strapped for cash moreso than I usually am.

I tried halo 2 on live and I didn't really care for it. Mainly because I'm not that good at first person shooters, and the people online are all way too good for me. It kind of kills the fun and my drive to get better when I can't survive for more than a minute before someone comes up from behind and shoots me.

I wish Halo 2 had a bot practice mode so people like me could get better at the game before going online.

I always get killed more often that I kill, but it's still good fun, especially if you know a few people on there.

I enjoyed Halo 2 but it was too short. Is it me or was Halo 1 much longer. Once I finished the game I went on line and got my ass kicked :hmm:

The single player game does not prepare you the on line.

Slip81 I agree with you it's hard to do well on line. As I got better the system kept putting we with better players so I just kept getting my ass kicked. It is like golf handycapping it you do good one time you get put up a level. If you always do bad you stay with the newer players. So remember don't get to many kills until you are ready to move up. I lucked out and got 10 kills once and now I am playing with guys where I'm lucky to get 2 kills.
