FF2 (NESj, FFO, GBA edition)

I'm in the process of forcing myself to play FF2 to finally see if I like it or not, even with its flaws. So for those of you who've played it what do you like and not like about it?

I haven't played through the whole thing yet, but so far I like the story and characters, and I also dig the way you build your party up. Instead of having levels, each characters stats increase based on how many attack are successful and what type of attack it is.

It's a cool systems that allows every party member to build up at relatively the same rate, but what really sucks is that in the beginning of the game, since your party is weak, not many of the attacks go through, so you end up getting beatten a lot and it takes a while to build up.

That's just my experience with the Japanese ROM version though, maybe the ones released on the U.S compileations are a little better balanced.

I enjoyed it for the same reasons. The new GBA version is susposed to have the Soul of Rebirth story added into it also.

I'm slowly liking FF2 now. :)
