Somebody sent this in to me and told me I should enter since I had hundreds of games, but personally I think others on this site would better represent our community. Especially JOE!!

"Something tells me that that show will be filled with guys like that Pac-Man one on VH1's obsessed show"
That's the exact same thing I was thinking. That guy was an idiot, although he was hilarious, none of it was intentional. LOL . If they were looking to do a serious show, I would nominate Joe "Digitpress" or VGcollector, because they both have amazing collections that would shock the public, but the program is probabley looking for some weirdo to laugh at, so I wouldn't go for it.

Well put, my good man.
I would like to see an Apprentice-like show for videogamers. Have like David Hayter in a suit, firing people for performing poorly in Halo and Smash Brothers.
"Joey, you performed extremely poorly at old-school Donkey Kong. It seemed you were more interested in that Asian chick than your score. GET BACK TO THE REAL WORLD!"
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Exploiting the gamers like we are some goddamn freaks.
Ok that's it...this is the last straw...either we do something about this or this shit will continue....The Media wants to make us look bad...we're just people with a simple hobby...it's not bizarre...it's not insane...it's just a life and a hobby.
People who agree to this garbage to be produced are being humilated and treated like lab rats to the millions of viewers who will judge us like a hunchback for being "different"
Is that what they want? $5 to see a dancing freak who is "OBESSED" with video games?
I'm not buying it man...either those TV executives need to get a fuckin life, get off their asses, and stop making these pointless reality TV shows OR Leave the real world the hell alone.
Has the video game world gone to be a total sell out? What happened to the moral values of just simply playing a game for the fun of it?
Have some dignity people! There is a thin line between respect for others and personal space
Oh who am I kidding...the media is so retarded they'll do anything they want just like a $20 whore...you tell it to make a series out of Tomb Raider..and they'll do it.

Ugh..reminds me of that MTV show about "gamers"...
particularly the guys who played "Soul Caliber 2" alot and said it was just like a sport.
The only person who was normal was the chick who lost weight playing DDR.
The show also made me wish Seanbaby would never again do shit for MTV and go back to his site.

Been there, done that. It was called "Relic Hunter" and starred Tia Carrere. LOL Ran for 2 or 3 seasons starting in 1999.

PDF is in the media business. Theoretically, so am I and a few others on these forums. Hence the plural "we".
And for the record, I wouldn't care if they thought I was a freak and goofed on me on TV. I mean, you really only need to see me to realize I'm a freak. The games are just icing on the proverbial cake.

We evil media people? Describe "We" because Im concerned with the people as in us....as to publishers and producers of tv, magazines, movies etc.

It's a web-based television program. They're looking for gamers to make fun of because, socially, there are very few groups of people lower on the social ladder than people who broadcast web-based television programs.

Thanks for clearing that up Flack. Now I have a better understanding of what's going on here.
Now since this is a web based TV program. I have no arguement now, since online is a totally different scenario. Especially when internet is compared to Radio or TV.

Yeah, I've watched Totally Obsessed a few times on VH-1, makes me sad that I know half of these people do NOT act like they did on that show, but they do so just to GET on the show.
Why not have a serious show about game collectors, sort of like Antique Roadshow or something of the sort. But no, I suppose gaming and game collecting isn't relevant in todays society, it's just something to make fun of. :(

I remember the MTV episode of true life I'm a gamer. With the japanese guy who played Halo (I think) for like 15 hours a day. He would get home from his job , play for like 8 hours, go to sleep at like 6 in the morning for a couple hours , and then repeat. That guy is the freaking man !!!!!!!!!! When they showed him playing at like 5 in the morning , I started laughing my ass off.

Yeah, but look at all the game rooms around here. Are we really so different? Look at the people who go to Star Trek conventions dressed as Klingons, complete with makeup. Now look at Packers fans who paint themselves half green and half gold and jump around shirtless in the dead of Wisconsin winter.
The point is: I've always found it pointless for one interest group to laugh at another. In the end, it's all the same. Relaaaaaaaax. :) And in any case, I think we've established that the venue for this thing isn't anything mainstream, so whichever gamers wind up on this webcast thingie will be mocked and laughed at by a comfortably smaller number of people.
We evil media people? Describe "We"
OK, Mr. President. :D I work for a corporate media entity, but strictly on a local level. Not sure that I'd turn down a chance to move up and create some kinda wacky programming though. If you feel the need to find out more, go here (http://www.thelogbook.com/work/).

Yeah, but I've never had the urge to paint a big Pac-Man on my chest...yet.

That gives me a great idea. Any takers for a bare ass naked Halo tournament in Wisconsin this January. One team could paint themselves blue and the other red. That would give them something to put in their show. LOL

Well Mr. President...due to Flack's statement earlier, the issue has been nulled.
I have seen the rooms of collectors and to me, it's really nothing serious. You gotta put your stuff somewhere man!
There are cases to where you can compare it to Star Trek/Star Wars fans. I just don't see that when talking about gamers. Since, the industry is not as old as that of these collectors. We're only in 9 years of an industry boom since 1995. Compared to die hard 25-30 years of Movie/TV Show fans.
I'm sure it will come to this. Yet it's a small percentage at the moment (Guys in their late 20's or 30's rules the majority of this). So Relax before you assume so soon. Give it time. This market shifts more then San Andreas fault
As for the smaller number of people who would watch such a thing on TV. I don't think it will be small. The Media always felt that the audience has the attention span of a spider monkey...and doesn't give a flying flip what we would really like to see. Just dish out "what's in"...milk the cash cow...and drink up the funds. Till the next generation of teens and young adults shows up. Games are the "in" thing...when i see a new Nintendo shirt being produced by the hordes...that has to tell you the corporate world wants their paws in this piggie bank.

They just gave the nod to produce it. It was in demand then, thus milking the cash cow then as well. They didn't create it.
It's all about the money and nothing more

Waste of time, there is a difference between a game collector and someone who calls off of work because there fav game character died.... there looking for people who would rather play GTA than go to there own mothers funeral...depressing...although im interested to see the shmuck they get on there....thats like people seeing a complete genesis or nes collection and saying your obsessed....theres a big difference....
