I was at my Game Crazy today and they have been going sale crazy with a lot of their games. Most of the titles have been knocked, $10, even up to $30 to clear out some inventory. A lot of the sales weren't too big (although I did pick up Gotcha Force for $12.99!) but I saw some of the first titles of the Classic NES series for $9.99. The games were like Pac-Man, Xevious, Ice Climber and Bomberman. They are brand new, should I pick them up?

well, I'd say $10 a piece is pretty solid for those...and I havent seen Xevious in a while around here

I would say that if you are a fan of one of those games, then yes. If you are buying them just to have them, then no. I was dissapointed with the NES classic series (the first batch anyway) and as such I only bought SMB and Zelda, because I will actually play those. Get em if you want, but I think that you could probably spend the money on other games that you will be more inclined to play.

Hmm, Super Mario Bros. and Zelda were the only ones that did interest me, and I took the liberty to pick up Zelda before (and more recently Zelda II), none of the games really interest me, except for the collecting purpose and possible rarity.

Either way Pac-Man is one I would consider buying, do you know, by and chance, is Pac-Man really slow, or like in the arcade, can he move fast? Pac-Man is a drag unless its fast.

Well, I usually think about it this way. Is it cheaper to buy the NES Series game, or the actual cart? And then go from there.

The prices are like that almost everywhere for those games. The manufacturer lowered the price

Personally I think that only Zelda , SMB , Castlevania, and Metroid are actually worth buying for the classic NES series. Only buy them if you really wanna play the game.

IMHO, you're better off just getting an NES, since you can find most of those games for a couple dollars each. (Or, at least, you used to be able to. I'm having a hard time finding these lately.)

I thought I remembered hearing negative things about the classics Pac-Man, but don't take my word for it. I would only say get those if you were really going to play them. Yes, 9.99 each is a good deal, but if you buy all 4, that's 40 bucks and a good chunk of change. So I would say choose wisely.

I was thinking of grabbing it from target 9.99 + a 25 percent raincheck discount .

Skip the NES Classics Pac-Man and get Pac-Man collection, also for GBA. You not only get the original Pac-Man, but you also also get Pac-Mania, Pac-Attack, and the Pac-Man arrangement, and a new copy will set you back $15 at most places.

The Classic NES Metroid truly isn't worth it, as the original Metroid is included as an unlockable in Metroid Zero Mission.
