You would think with all the emulation going on with the XBOX, that somebody would figure out some kinda way to make old controllers work on the XBOX.

Like an adapter that would allow you to use a "real" SNES pad, or a Genny pad or a NES pad, etc, etc.

If something like that was available, I might get really lazy and not even use the "real" systems anymore.

It would be so convienent to just pull out the SNES adapter for my XBOX and fire up the SNES emulator. Same thing with Genny and NES and TurboGrafx-16. An atari 2600 adapter would be really cool as well.

I actually found some people that were making USB adapters for the PC for these systems and I asked them if they could do the same thing for the XBOX. They said that they would look into it, but then I tried to contact them again, and they never get back to me. I don't know what happened. It must be kinda difficult to do, I guess, and they just gave up on it.

I think if they could make one, the XBOX emulation community would eat it up, big time.

I would be willing to pay $40 for a SNES pad that worked on the XBOX SNES emulator perfectly. Same thing with Genesis and NES.

What say you?

Isn't there at least a decent ball-top style old-school arcade controller for the Ecks Bawks? That's all I'd be interested in for stuff like Namco Museum and so on. It's not real without the feel.

I have the X-Arcade joystick, and it is great, but it sucks for platformers and stuff like that. And that is what I mostly like to play on the 16 bit and 8 bit systems.

Well, there are retro USB controllers, and there are USB -> XBox adapters, right?

(Where were those retro USB controllers again? Oh yeah...

It for some reason doesn't get updated as often as it should but it is the best info i could give you.
I would reccomend that to anyone who is interested in the "Limited Edition" controllers that surface for certain games.

I was originally thinking the same thing, but the problem with the retrocon is that it doesn't use a true old school directional pad, and I don't like the rounded metalic like buttons. It looks like a old NES controller, but doesn't really feel like one.

Do USB to XBox adapters not work with the controllers I linked to?

Yeah, they seriously need a retro pad badly for Xbox (I cant stand playing SVC Chaos with those controls)

Luckily, Nuby is nice enough to deliver SF Controllers for Xbox in Feburary 05'

or

I've heard that the normal USB adapters for the XBOX only work for keyboards and mice, that for some reason the controller doesn' work. But, I do know a guy that can do a USB mod to the XBOX where you will actually have two little USB ports on the front of your XBOX. It's possible, that with this mod, the USB controllers would work.

There are people that take actual SNES and NES and Genny controllers and modify them for USB. I think they sell them for like $25 each.

A little derailing here.

Remember the thread about the LE Street Fighter joystick coming out shortly? Will those be released for the Xbox?

I've seen xbox versions of this before, I have an earlier-model PC one and it is great. If it works as well as the PC one does I highly suggest it. Search aroundf or "magic box" or such.

I REALLY wish that company would make one for nintendo products; SNES, GC, and N64 would confirm a purchase from me.

just thought.
Will using USB->Xbox cable plus Sega Saturn-style USB pad work on Xbox?

cheers
