I have an Atari 2600 that has a S-Video mod and the Stereo audio mod. The S-Video is a true S-Video signal, but the stereo mod is just mono sound to both speakers. It just makes it convienent to hook it up to modern TV's with the Audio/Video plugs on the back.
The S-Video mod is definitely worth the money. The picture is dramatically improved over what you normally see from the crappy RF switchbox.
The Atari 2600 is a six switcher with the woodgrain, original from back in the day.
This is going to be the Atari 2600 system to own for the future. Eventually, you'll have some problems hooking up regular 2600's to modern day TV's, but with the S-Video output of this one, it's pretty much future proof for the forseeable future. Certainly there will be TV's down the road that don't have S-Video plugs on them, but there will be adapters to convert S-Video to whatever it is on the back of future TV's. But adapters to convert old RF stuff will eventually be impossible to find.
Anyways, if you are interested in it, PM me with an offer. But I'm not going to sell this puppy for cheap. I paid a pretty penny to get the woodgrain 6 switcher, and then I paid about 3 times that to get the S-Video mod and the Stereo audio mod (mono sound).
