I'm looking for a used PS2, how much should I pay for one? I just need the system itself, no games or controllers or anything.

Anybody know how much these things typically go for, bare bones on Ebay?

I know that it can be scary to get a used PS2, since so many PS2's have problems, and the fact that somebody is selling a PS2, could mean that they are trying to get rid of a problem child PS2, but I want to get it modded, and I've heard that the new super slim PS2's don't like to be modded. That they have problems after having mod chips installed, etc, etc.

So I figure I need to get one of the old fat ones. Of course, none of the stores have any more old fat ones, and I don't feel that I should have to pay $149.99 to get an old fat one anyways. The fatties should be marked down to like $129.99 or something.

Anyways, what does a used PS2 go for?

My belief is try to get it at least 30% less than the msrp for a used machine so around 100 seems fair...speaking of which if you're interested I might have one available, not because it's a bad child but because I could use the cash.

You can find them n ebay for around $100 shipped with controllers/hookups/ and a game.

Also most Pawn Shops will sell them for $80-$100 now....

EB just jacked the price up to $130 and they still sell like hotcakes. I also agree that $100 is a fair price, and you should snag it immediately should you come across one.

8. Please limit your topics to BUYING and SELLING items only. Asking questions of an item's worth or what a good price for an item doesn't really belong here. These type of questions should be posted in the video game forum (or ebay insanity if you see it on there. ) The only exception to this is an attempt to resolve a deal here. (ie. the orochi where are you? thread)

Yeah don't pay more than $100, unless you get a buch of stuff with it like games, network adapter etc.

Retail stores will most likely charge $130. I don't think that's too bad since anything PS2 is in demand at the moment. Plus you get that warranty.

If you're going through an individual or eBay, I'd top out at $100.

But really, what's it worth to you personally? Determine that and go that route.

A used PS2 for $100 with its known problems of wearing out quicky? Thats a ripoff. I wouldn't go more than $75. I have 2 I got for free that were broken, repaired 'em and now they are mine. I never bought one.

Find a broken one with an easy problem to fix (like a faulty power switch) and repair it for cheap, you won't get one on EBay though. Broken systems still cost a good bit there.

IMO I'd never buy anything for more than 50% of MSRP on EBay, you probably won't have a warranty, spend a few more dollars and get that warranty if you're gonna spend $100 on a PS2 and more for shipping. Crazy I tell ya. And used systems smell like smoke most of the time :beaten:
