Why are these so damn hard to find? I know wireless controllers are becoming a lot more popular, but I can't use the LIVE headset with those. I went to 2 EBGames, KMart, TRU, a local game shop, and I finally found one at Target, and it cost more $10 for 7 feet. Yes, I know eBay or whatever, but I wanted it that day, and w/ shipping it wouldn't be any cheaper anyway. The EBGAmes thing REALLY pissed me off. At the store in the mall, all new accessories are up top and you need a ladder to even see them. They had used PS2 and GCN extensions, but none for Xbox. SO I asked, and was told they had them in back, but only as a part of a starter kit to be sold with a new console, and the the idiot asked if I wanted to buy one. TRU also had them in a starter kit w/ a crap 3rd party controller and some other junk for $30.

Sorry, I needed to rant.

They've always been tough to find, not just around this time of year. At least, I've noticed that around here.

Extension cords are hard to find for the XBox? :hmm:

I have one I'm not using -- PM if you're interested.

I bought it with the system last year, thinking that I'd need one to sit on my couch and play like I do with the PS2 and GC -- but the cord is long enough, so it just went into storage.

The standard Xbox controller has like what--nine, ten feet of cord? That's probably why there's not a big market for extensions

I imagine that most manufacturers would forecast an extension selling about as well as the rumored-but-never-produced "Controller L", whose market would have consisted of NBA players, ET, and Salad Fingers.

Huh. EB's site sells them separately for like $7. Last month I was able to get one right off the shelf (their "Mad Catz" display).

I needed to get one as the living room at our new/old house is really long, so we separated it with furniture (couch divides room into "TV area", which created a lounging area at the back of the room). If we had the couch close enough to the TV to be able to play the Xbox, it would have made the area really cramped looking.

@bargora: I'm pretty sure the Type S controller has a shorter cord than the original.

Only problem with the extender (at least the Mad Catz brand): sucker wraps itself up into a tangled mess real easy.

For a while, I could have sworn that Li Sang had them.

I know EBgames.com has them, but I needed one that night, so mail order wasn't really an option. I just can't believe that a store that specializes in video games doesn't have a controller extender for a current console. That's just inexcusible. Sure, it's not going to make them a lot of money, but not having it IS going to piss me off and make me take my money elsewhere later.

As for the original cord being about 10 feet, my couch is about 13 fet away from my TV, and my Xbox is in an entertainment center, about 3 feet above the floor, so I need 16 feet or so of cord so it's not sretched acrossed the room 2 feet above the floor.
