Per a suggestion from one of our members, the "Official Collector's List" has been re-organized geographically, so you can see the people from your country and/or state nearby. I like it this way!

http://www.digitpress.com/dpconnec.txt

NEXT: I'm thinking of re-doing this, so it's broken out into 8-bit/16-bit/32+ bit/computer/etc gaming instead of by 8-bit system cartridge count.

All feedback welcome here!

DP,

I like how it is organized by area now. Matter of fact there's a few members that live near me or in my home town of Fullerton, CA.

Maybe I can find someone around here to trade with.

Michael, it explains that right at the top of "the list"! Just email me with the particulars as noted. It's EZ. And as always, the more the merrier!

Does it really matter if we don't own alot of unique carts for those systems on the list now (or system to be added later)?

Mostly asking cause I want to join the list and i don't have much 8-bitish stuff really.

I can't speak for Digitalpress, but I'd say it doesent matter Kaine. A collector is a collector, and a game is a gamer, even if they only own 3 games. :)

I'll probably be doing away with game counts anyway in favor of yes/no collecting habits. Note that there are quite a few people on the list there who have zeroes straight across, and you just KNOW that's not entirely true.

Sort of like: Do you collect for "X" system ... Yes. ?

Of course, in my case, it would be something like streight "yes" across the board, if that's how it would be done. I'd wonder if you have to own the systems in question, or whatever. I have games for systems that I don't even own and systems for which I don't own even one game for.

Well with the many systems I have i've become a gamer/collector. Gaming for the systems and collecting those games I play and whatnot.

Awww DP!...say it ain't so! Seeing totals is one of my favorite parts of the collector list! And now that the newer systems are going to be added it would be a damn shame to have no idea of how people are doing on the new systems compared to the old.

Perhaps instead of a zero, put a big "NO" to indicate that people don't collect that particular game. And perhaps stipulate that the totals are for "unique" games you own for a particular system...not how many, ie: 50 combats, 40 E.T.s, etc., for the 2600.

I look to DP as my clearing house for all game collecting knowledge, and if we lose the data that tells us where most people are in their stats and who's the one to beat, I think we'll be losing a lot.

Put me down as against losing the totals!

Point taken - they don't have to go away... since it's a text file I could just continue to extend it to the right with more systems. Looks crappy when you print it but there you have it.

I made another "tweak" to this earlier - your handle appears on the listing now if I know it. Take a look!

Joe, i'm assuming by unique you mean hot many carts you own of x system (not multiple carts of one game for X system like your 50 Combats example). You'll get a list from me today sometime methinks if I can pull myself from Activision Anthology to count.

OK I updated again with some of the recent forum members finally crawling out from under various rocks :P

And please LET ME KNOW if you receive any SPAM as a result of this list. It has happened twice in the past five years, and both times the offender was violated in a most unpleasant manner. I hope I don't have to do that again but I will if anyone tries to turn this list into a marketing campaign. >:(

Hey Creamed, I knew it was you anyhow. Nice to meet someone else from TRU who lives in Dover also. That makes 2 others I know from there in Dover. Nice to see myself on the list too- will the lists be revised for games past 8-bit at some point (just a question)?

Also working on a Quatrro Pro/Excel spreadsheet for my games.

Got a whole bunch of updates over the past few days... I've filed them for now but should be able to get to everything by the weekend.

If you're still not on the list - this would be a good time to get it in. Don't worry about counting your games! Approximate, or don't even include that part with your entry (you can always add it later). The primary goal of the list is to "connect" with others near you.

Thanks for participating!
