That's actually way up in price. For a long time, it was $1.99. I have a bunch of those GameStop newspapers still with it in it.

I'm pretty sure that I saw it once "in the wild" before I was too big into collection / selling stuff online. I pulled out my trusty GameStop newspaper to see what I could find about this strange game I had never seen before, and I saw it was so cheap that I passed it up.

Luckily it was so far in the past that I can't remember for sure, and therefore it doesn't hurt so much to have skipped it ;)

Just imagine going back in time when you could get the game new and buying a few hundred copys which you never open. Better yet, go back in time and order a bunch of copies of NWC 90 from Nintendo Power :) .

Worse, Funcoland once sold it for a mere 29 cents. God bless those days. Any serious NES collector needs to get their hands on a circa 1999 Funcoland price newspaper.... it'll make you laugh or cry.

So you could mail order it? I've never lived near a funcoland, but I remeber seeing their ads in magazines. If you couldn't mail order I don't see it as ThAT big a deal, how many would actually pop up at retail stores?

I mail-ordered Stadium Events from Funco about four years ago!

...I'm still waiting.

Dude, I'm third on line. That's what they told me, anyway, so I'm going to get mine first. So .. nyeh!

Promophile: Back before Gamestop ate Funco, they had the phoneline and the website for mail order. Games could be ordered from each, and if they didn't have it, you'd get on the list and wait like Frank, myself, D_N_G, JeffD, and many more did.

I do know that this is where JeffD got his Stadium Events from. Lucky? Yeah, just a bit. ;) Myself, I got a whole bunch of stuff nice and cheap by mail order, a whole barrel of the rarer end of Color Dreams, probably close to 50 games in all.

Ah cool thanks for the info. I used to order from a company called chips n' bits when I lived in Italy. They had ads in EGM and some other stuff. Anyone know what happened to that company?

Yea i think your right. The gold ones were given away in a NP contest. For some reason I think I got my wires crossed with the Star Fox SW carts. I KNOW you could order those.

Yeah, I've still got the NP catalog from '94. The items in there make one cream their pantses. Though the Star Fox Competition Weekend Jackets were rather expensive (I think the carts were $70; I'll check later).
