Memory Card PS2 Problem- Any tips?

I had my PS2 DRE problem fixed by SONY(at no cost)in Sept. Since then, I had a message when I play any game : memory card not being plugged in/disconnected. Now this past week, the message shows more frequently, especially during auto save games. I have dusted my PS2 the best I could w/out opening it. I really don't want to send my PS2 in again. And I really don't want to pay Sony for fixing it. I haven't called Sony yet with this new problem. Any suggetions?

I have the same problem, except with my controller. My PS2 doesn't realise its plugged in sometimes. I just jiggle the plug, and it usually gets fixed
