I'll be the first to tackle this one.

I'll bet anyone twenty dollars that there will be more PSP's returned defective than DS's (and not for some stupid ass 1 Dead Pixel BS).

BTW...OMG Japan is the best.

I would gladly take you up on that bet, except that 1) we'll never know accurate return figures for either system, and 2) not counting DSes that have been returned because of "1 Dead Pixel BS" is BS in itself. Would you count returned DSes that had TWO dead pixels? Three?

I was hoping this one could die/be locked, but oh well.

There aren't any PSPs on sale yet; the only reason "Crappychinese" (THANKS FOR THE SLUR LOMG) Nintendo DS units are out there is because demand is very high. omg source?

As for the CD unit, I'd also be rather surprised if there are tons of returns as defective for the PSP as it's absolutely imperative that the disc design works and works perfectly...Sony would be throwing money down the drain if the system had to be constantly repaired. Sony doesn't make money (or win customers) with defective products, bottom line.

You know many people read alot of shit and some people believe alot of shit. Wat ever u think suits you.
The Disk Read Error is total BS, Xbox has more and MS made the shittier console. The disc read error probably came in the first PS2s but I havn't sen anything as bad as the new xbox ones since 2001. I have a SCPH 30001 and an SCPH 30001R both made in Japan v 1 and v5/6 PS2, havn't moded them or anything else stupid, they work great!!!
So unless something like that happened to you please don't assume stuff. The UMB is still DISK I was hopping a cartridge for the PSP but I guess I am nto going to complain I have teh graphcis of the PSP games. Thats all I can say about that,

Well, maybe three. :P

If we could count it though, I'd take my chances. Regardless, why do these threads keep on popping up. It's like people have to find a reason to hate "x" system. How about this, look at the games, and if you don't like them, then feel free to say why and don't buy them. What in gods name does the place of creation have to do with how good the system will be. There is been no real problems as far as the DS system goes. Dead pixels...that happens in almost every product that use LCDS. Different colors and a missing spring sound...OMG. I'm sure the PSP will have some problems itself, then everyone on the other side of the fence will stick their heads out and we'll do this all over again. This is getting way to petty, and people seem to be more interested in being right, then playing games.

BTW...Zach=Nintendo hater. :P

Sounds like your fanboy mentality just can't stand the heat, and you're just throwing out more non-information to salve your pride x_x

Hey shut the h*ll up if u don't have any constructive to say, I choose the nick PS2Hawk because I used to mod PS2s, I know more about a PS2 hardware/version changes then u will ever!!!
Secondly, Xbox DREs were worst, almost ALL THOMPSON Drive SCRATCH the Disks and I havn't seen a single PS2 Scratch the DISK. THOMPSON was changed to PHILIPS and then SAMSUNG and then Upgraded THOMPSON. My suggestion, shut up because I can prove u wrong in any hardware tech console discussion. Also do u even have a ps2 ? or xbox ?

As far as ur bet goes, I would slap myself

Not sure why you quoted me twice. I was mearly making a statement that I think more PSPs will be returned in response to his topic. I've said multiple times on this board that I am very interested in the PSP and its games. I may be a big Nintendo fan, but I'm not some blind fanboy. (well, maybe sometimes ;) )

Making the PSP in japan should atleast tell you that the production value is great. Not to say the way every company is moving to CHINA, cutting back on labor and also using cheap material in manufacturing. The production is going to move to china once the PSP is out. You are a noob, deal with it. You don't know anything about console hardware, lets just leave it at that.

Perhaps products made in China will be up to the same snuff in the near future...if not right now.

It's true! While I don't want to be centered around doom and gloom, it's true that China is catching up, and I having a sophisticated market there isn't a bad thing - as long as things are going both ways. China isn't exactly a capitalist country, but they're very close in some ways - certainly not spouting the usual "the Capitalists will compete to see whom may sell us the rope with which we'll hang them all" of the old Soviets, and likewise they aren't plotting to do us in by overwhelming our imports with their exports. The problems of Hong Kong and Taiwan aside, they're probably friendlier than Russia is right now...

I guess some fans boys are offended and are using my nick PS2Hawk to get back at me.
Some people get the pic, other are just norm dumbasses who just like to get the "device" without knowing its contents/components.

First of all the Chineses Production is low end, that was the main point. I have seen companies move the prodcution from Mexico to China, from Japan to china, this goes for not only PS2 but for Xbox and GameCube as well.
If you have the ability to open the console, which looks like most of u dumbasses don't, you will see the different in the production value and company cut backs.

I think the reason that everyone is treating you the way they are is because of the way you are treating everyone else. Calling board members "dumbasses", "noobs", and telling them to "shut the hell up" isn't exactly the best way to get your point across - nor is typing like you're a 12 year old that's using AIM. I can figure out what you're trying to say, but when the majority of people read something with as many typos and u's and teh's as this post, they disregard it. Maybe that's not a fair way to go about it, but regardless, fixing your text before it's posted can make a large difference in the respect (and the type of replies) you will earn online.

It also helps to back up your conclusions with evidence - when you spout off something like "The XBXO IS SHISZZLEY" without posting any sort of reference as to why you came to that conclusion AND you have a screenname like PS2Hawk, then it absolutely *shouts* fanboy. I don't care if you're a Sony fanboy or a freakin Atari Jaguar fanboy - everyone's a fan of something. But you can eliminate people calling you a fanboy by making posts that give people no way to slap that label on you.

So what I'm saying is quit complaining. You started the topic, you made some goofy posts and dumped on some board members, and they called you out on it. If you don't want that to happen, then don't call everyone a "dumbass" and expect them not to care.

Simple really.

My PSX made in mexico *DEAD*
MY PS2 made in Japan starting to get dre dispite a dustless enviroment and regular cleaning.
GameCube made in china runs fine no problems made in Japan
Xbox made in Mexico no problems
Sony walkman DEAD! made in Japan
Nintendo NES made in Japan
1932 Ford Model A made in America no problems ( Couldn't find any game systems made i the US)

Its doesn't matter were the product is made, the thing that matters is its' design. If its deigned to last that what it will do. It seems to me from what I have personally experianced, that Sony doesn't care about making products long lasting all they care about is the bottom cost cutting line.
