Wow, that's pretty cool. But of course, seeing how it's Ebay, technically it's worth whatever you feel like paying for it.

I don't like that minimum starting bid though. It'll hurt the auction in the long run most likely.

Whoa sweet...haven't played the game though.

Well one part of the auction is hokey, the "red cart" wasn't rare.

Oh man I remember that bundle now...god that is so sweet to include the entire comic in hard back cover.

I fuckin loved that game...hard as hell..but mannn it was worth it

Sweet! Never seen that before!! To be honest, given the exchange rate, the price doesn't look to bad to me, for what you're getting. I can only see this going up in value in the future. Who knows how many of these actually got sold, and how many got dumped?

A 5,000 production run is fairly low, and if (for example) not all of them sold and the rest were disposed of, that would make it pretty rare. Of course, maybe someone just bought a van full of them from the Acclaim auction ... we'll see!!

I dunno, it's kind of like a special edition of Batman Forever. Anyone remember when QVC was trying to unload that plastic turd?

Maybe you can pick up a vanload of these from the Acclaim auction :D Anyone know what the set originally retailed for?

Am I the only one who sees this as more of a Spiderman bundle that includes a game than a game bundle that includes extra stuff?

at the time it was released, i'm sure the game cost just a bit more than the comic or the box itself. so i would consider it a GAME with goodies, and NOT the other way around. but hey, that's just me. :)

Sort of like asking if the Final Fantasy XI bundle w/HDD is a bundle that includes a game or vice versa. Probably the same question can be asked of WD's products :)

Myself, I see a game that has a really big box.

i didn't really like maximum carnage. separation anxiety was way more fun. i got that game from kool-aid points and beat it without dying once (why i sold it is beyond me)

is it was a separartion anxiety bundle, i would be there, but i never really liked maimum carnage

I ended up winning this auction. I know it is probably a bit high

but

I dig Spider-Man and loved this game back in the day. I remeber I got it for christmas one year. I used to sneak into my parents room and take it out of the suitcase they tried to hide it in and play it while they were not home. I never knew such a pimp ass box set existed. I can't wait to get my hands on this.

I don't think you overpaid for it - it is a pretty cool lot. I imagine if people's budgets hadn't been stretched by Christmas, you might have had a bit more competition for it!

I got this today. Box is shaped like a box you would get at christmas time with a shirt inside.Comes with a certificate of authenticity. Not individually numbered. The book actually reprints the origin of Carnage, not the Maximum Carnage storyline. The pins are nice and sit below the game stuck into the felt on the left hand side. The game looks the same as the retail release from what I can tell (cart and box) has a upc code.
