3 to 1 it's a custom painted N64.

that's custom...decals are too easy to detect...plus Nintendo would change the color of the controller if it was legit, because Nintendo is that "color-happy" when it comes to systems and controllers

Plus if anyone had a legit console as rare as this one would be, the BIN would be way more than 60 dollars LOL .

Why are you trying to sell this as a rarity, when in reality, it's a custom paint job? If it were authentic as you said, the fact that most people have never seen one would make it rare enough to sell for more than 60 bucks.

regardless if it is a custom paint job or not, that is still pretty damn cool.

if i were a big turok fan i would love to own it.

Hi,
This console was sold this way.I put a 60 dollar Buy
it now on the unit because I dont know what its
worth.Its not a paint job.Its a decal that Nintendo
put on the unit and controller. These were display
items promoting Turok 2.
Thanks

hmm so nobody can say for sure on this.

I have never seen skins for a n64 :hmm:

That would be funny if this was some extreme rarity and we all didnt know it untill it was too late. LOL

looks like a remnant from the recent Akklaim auction if you ask me.

i remember that some german n64 magazine had decals for your n64 with almost every issue.
these were very common here.

Well that certainly appears to be the case, and a reocurring theme, doesn't it?

so which one of you is going to buy it?

it is possible it is fake, but it is also possible that with the rescent sadness of acclaim going "belly up", this could have been something inside the company. i don't know

how is it possible it is a fake? What is fake meaning exactly? Do you mean that he constructed this in his toolshop of doom and said something different in the auction?

I find it unbelievable that the seller faked these or that the person he got these from did, actually...

He states in his auction that it is an extremely rare system made by acclaim. obviously if this is an offical system it will be worth much more than if its a custom one.

That isn't what he said in his auction

"This console was used as a promtion to Promote Turok 2.This consle was never sold in the stores. The console will come with its original Turok 2 game with matching controller and console."

It's what he implied. Yea you can interpret it differently, but if its not an offical console, which I seriously doubt, it's really weasely.

You gotta be joking about him being weasely and having serious doubts about it being not official stuff?

HE SAYS IT WASN'T SOLD IN STORES. IS THAT WHAT YOU MEAN BY NOT OFFICIAL CONSOLE? IS THAT WHAT MAKES HIM SO WEASELY? HUH?

To me it is pretty obvious that it WAS used as a promotion for turok 2, by Acclaim, and the seller is in no way weasely.

:edited so many times because I kept spelling weasely wrong apparently :/

How can you be sure?

disregard the scattered post.

How can you be sure?

Because the seller sent me photos that are 12X larger than that in the auction. I'm as sure it's official as I know that it's a N64 system and not an atari. No one other than Acclaim used that console for their Turok 2 Game and apparently this isn't the only one that Acclaim used. They custom made the thing that goes on the controller and system, and that means it IS official.

I would venture to guess they used a White label Turok 2 Demo Preview Cartridge with it during their promo exhibitions.

Because I like you enough to respond twice to the same thing.

What is your definition of official and custom? A toys R us edition gold N64 is considered "official". But then that isn't a "painjob" in the auction those are officially made with Acclaim for official event stuff, not sold in stores such as the gold edition toys R us n64.

Regardless you don't really think he did/ actually could/ would make one and then set a buy it now at $60?

Now please give this a break I need to watch Top Model because it's the cut time and Ann might be let go.
