For some reason I never play the GameCube. I just don't seem to have interest in it. I'm not exactly sure why. Well one of the main reasons is that I only have 1 game for it. Metroid Prime. I would rent Cube games, but whenever I have a Gamer's Pass, there is always XBOX games that I would rather rent, than any of the Cube games.

I tried the new Zelda, and I can't stand the auto jump. I just don't like auto jump. I tried the new Mario Kart, and it was somewhat dissapointing in my opinion. I was totally dissapointed with Mario Sunshine. To me that game didn't seem much better than the N64 Mario in terms of graphics and sounds. The game was much worse than Mario 64, but had the same freaking graphics and sounds, where was the 128bit upgrade?

The only games that I've really liked on the GameCube were Pikmin, WaveRace BlueStorm (most underrated Cube game), Metroid Prime, Eternal Darkness, Rogue Squadron, can't really think of anything else.

Part of the problem with me and the GameCube is that I have it hooked up to a TV that only takes a 480p signal, so I don't play any of the games that aren't progressive scan 480p. I think all of the Resident Evils were non 480p. Some other good games aren't 480p, and I haven't tried them.

I should get a RGB cable for the Cube, but the problem is that it requires that you hack a Cube Component cable to make a RGB cable, and those component cables cost a serious grip.

I would like to start playing my Cube, but there isn't any particular Cube game that is making me say, "Damn, I absolutely have to play that game". I would say that the newest Resident Evil that is going to come out, I guess it's Resident Evil 4, that is the one game that looks like it's an absolute must play.

For me it really goes in cycles, I hadn't played my PS2 for over a year, and now in the last 3 months that is almost all I play, followed by--strangly Dreamcast, PC (old games like Star Trek Armada, Warcraft 2) and then gamecube.. Xbox which I played nearly exclusively for a year, is now collecting dust.

I think that is the inherent problem with 3 major consoles and a good handheld released at the same time (plus PC, Dreamcast, and retro stuff)

Have you played REmake or RE0? RE0 is hit or miss, but almost everyone agrees that REmake is awesome.

I don't play my Cube either. I don't even buy software for it. I don't "hate" it. It's not like it's a pain in the ass to hook up....all I have to do is turn the power button on.

I buy PS2 titles every week....I just "forget" to buy Cube titles. That's the only way that I can explain it. It's "the other" system. I keep saying "I really SHOULD buy some Cube games".....but never ever do.

A friend finished Tales Of Symphonia, so I bought it and the guide off of him. I love RPGs......and yet I haven't touched this game. Meanwhile I've started RPGs on my PS2. I enjoyed playing PSO offline on my Cube. I recently bought another Dreamcast and guess what? I've started two characters on the Dreamcast PSO, and now play it on DC instead, abandoning my Cube yet again.

I'm a Zelda fan....and haven't even gotten beyond getting my ship in WindWaker. That was well over a year ago. I would have finished Ocarina Of Time 10 times over by now. I'm a huge Final Fantasy fan.....and Crystal Chronicles sits there unfinished. However, I've started FFX again.

I can't explain it, but the Cube doesn't stay in my mind at all. The N64? I'm always buying games for it.

I play my Cube quite a lot!

It's a GREAT party system. Four wireless Wavebirds, four Donkey Konga controllers, and a pile of terrific four-player games ensure that the GC is going to be hooked up for a long, long time.

And this, despite the fact that it's not hooked up to an RGB monitor. Uncanny!

Yes, I play my cube more than xbox or ps2. I think they have more games that you can pick up and play and not know the story or have a map next to you.

Funny, I'm the same way with PS2, I own 2 and have yet to stick a PS2 game in them yet. They are just FFT and Castlevania platforms for me. GC is definatly a party platform, eventhough the new Mario Kart came out lacking IMO. But if Eternal Darkness doesn't make you wanna play it through 3 times then I dunno what game will. SSBM will never die in my cirlce of friends, go go Kirby! If I owned an XBox it would get little play also, beyond Halo/Halo2 that is, thats all I'd ever play. Oh, and Ghost Recon. Next Gen just hasn't done it for me like the SNES, Goldeneye, and online RPGs have.

I haven't played my Cube since I got stuck in Vietiful Joe, but that will be remedied soon. As soon a I get through Spiderman 2, I think I'll finally be playing through Eternal Darkness and Metroid Prime next.

I'm right there with ya, Anthony. I've got more GC titles than that, but it's not many. Right now my original PlayStation has been getting much more playtime, and that's...still not much.

As for this "auto jump" in Zelda WW you speak of, well...it seems to me the system is the same as it had been in the N64 Zeldas, and crazed hopping about has never really had much use in the Zelda games (Zelda II's platforming sections, which I just don't understand, aside - Link's Awakening put the jump item to good use, but you had to select it and it took up that valuable item button).

I have two Cubes & most of the must-have games (Zelda, Metroid, RE games, Mario Kart, Mario Party, Viewtiful Joe, Eternal Darkness), but I haven't touched it in over a year.

Has it really been that long since a good game has come out for it?

Maybe my tastes are different, because I didn't like Metroid or Zelda. The only game I want for it right now is Mario Tennis and possibly Mario Party 6, but with Xbox Live, the "party" aspect of the Gamecube isn't a big draw anymore.

I still get a kick out of all the hell that Rebecca goes through in Zero (Which has some monsters more bizarre...especially the last boss)....Yet in RE1...she'll pratically be in awe of a Hunter....

Yea this happens to me a lot right now im playing a lot of gamecube. Recently ive been playing Tony Hawk 3 and Mario Sunshine which I like. But over the past 6 months ive played mostly PS2 and my NES but all my other consoles have been taking the back seat. The Xbox is making a big come back tho because my friends and I have been playing a lot of Fussion Frenzy.

For me, my Xbox gets all the play time.

Second with very little play time is my Gamecube.

Third with even less play time is my PS2.

I've probably played my full-size Super Mario Bros. pinball machine more than I have played my 'cube or ps2 in the last few months.

I play my systems in this order, from most to least...

NES, PS1, SNES, GENESIS, PS2, DREAMCAST, SMS, N64, VCS, GAMECUBE, SATURN

Lately i have been playing Xbox more than anything.
After that is SNES and thats only a few hours in the last month maybe.
I haven't touched alot of my systems in a few months which is a real shame especially DC, NES, Genesis.

Lately I haven't played much of my Cube... but I haven't played much of my PS1 either or any other TV consoles. You see, during every single weekend since Halloween weekend, there had seen some social event going on in my life (such as going out till 5 am with my friends last Saturday). So, while I love seeing my friends and going out and all, I don't really feel as much like playing games during the rest of the weekend.

Anyway, it goes in cycles. Having a non-gamer boyfriend doesn't help, however.

However, I do play plenty of my GBA on my way to and from work.

And all this is not a question of how many games I own (I have close to 30 GCN games, about the same amount of GBA games and about 15-to-20 PS2 games).

HINT: Buy more games for it.

Good games. Logic dictates that you will then play it more.

I've had an Xbox since last Xmas I've never played. My gamecube has seen a few games play recently the last couple months ...on my Gameboy player. Only the last week have I been playing Metroid Prime...the first game I've really gone through. I'm at the last boss right now. I also got it around Xmas. My PS2 has seen a couple games palyed all the way through. My Dreamcast saw to the end of Sonic Adventure, but I don't recall playing all the way through anything else on it, but I remember getting about 2 hours into Soul Caliber. I havent' rented games in years. No time, it seems. That's ok...I've probably got at least 1500 games I havent' even played. :-(

I had to force myself to remove my GameCube from the storage bag because I had bought 3 or 4 games that I still hadn't played for it. I've played Ribbit King the most lately because I look forward to the weird cinemas. I played my new copy of Budokai from Sears for about 5 minutes, and I still have a sealed copy of Future Tactics that I need to get around to.

I went back to Zelda, and its maddening difficulty reminded me why I exiled the Cube to the bag in the first place...

Uhh, which part would that be?

The part where you have to sneak around the Moblins. Forgive me, but I've never been a fan of the stealth stuff. That's why Metal Gear, Splinter Cell, Hitman, Mission Impossible and a dozen other titles in that genre that I own never get finished. I'm sure I haven't even cracked the surface of Wind Waker, but why waste time playing something like that when I can play frog golf against a panda and a straw basket in Ribbit King?

Oh man, that's just the very beginning! And I agree, I actually recall getting rather frustrated with that part. In particular, the part where you have to sneak around the two moblins on the same level with you. But, the reason I'd forgotten all about that, is because the rest of the game is just so good. Believe me, you're really missing out on a good experience by not trying to go any further.

If you're on that part, you've got to pick up a barrel and use it for cover. The trick is to move only when both of the moblins have their back turned to you, and remain completely still when you're in their view. EDIT: I just remembered that there are other moblins on the lower levels, who wander around in halls and whatnot. You are NOT required to sneak past any of those to get past this area. Instead, look around for a ladder in one of the other rooms to get to a higher level, where you won't have to worry about em until you get to that area that I just mentioned.

It's annoying, I know, it's frustrating, yes, but believe me, if you'll just grit your teeth and try it a few more times, if you can just get past that one part, then you'll never have to do anything like that for the rest of the game(barring the one other moblin outside that's a breeze to sneak past), and the only thing that will be left is a very good game.
