Whatever happened to Rent-A-Hero No.1 for Xbox?

Whatever happened to this game? It was supposed to be released in the US a while back for Xbox and I was really looking forward to playing it but haven't heard anything about it in a while. Did it get canceled? I see that there is a Rent-A-Hero No. 1 review for Xbox in the DP Reviews section. Is that an import?

I don't think it ever made it here. In fact, it was supposed to be released for the Dreamcast as well, but that never made it over here. And then there was the Genesis version, but that (sensing a pattern?) never made it here as well.

'Tis a shame, because it looked like a really neat game.

It also makes me wonder if there were any sequels planned or done for this series. Rent-A-Hero No.2, perhaps?

I remember seeing reviews for the Xbox version somewhere. That's odd. It was always one of those "I'll pick it up later" titles for me, but now that it's cancelled, my interest is piqued yet again.....odd.

The game was reviewed by XBN awhile back.Almost a year ago. I believe it scored a 7 or 6/10. I am also really looking forward to this one. Don't be surprised if it happens to make it over here without so much as a whimper. If not, there is always the import route. Same with the DC version.

believe it was out on MegaDrive and then Dreamcast.
I'm sure with DC only Japan saw the release whereas with MD I'm not sure whether it was relesed in PAL or US as well - think it did...

I've actually met with someone that had a near complete and translated version of the game...I knew I should've asked if I could buy it from him...

but yeah I hoped this game would be out....but it doesn't seem like it'll happen

Hi yes your correct it has never came out here in USA but Greg Wilcox who goes by geelw on this board has reviewed that game and he has the review disc himself ... lucky him ! wish I could be able to buy it from him oh well ...

Ahhh, so that's what happened. I was totally confused by the review because I couldn't understand how a DP'er could get his hands on a game that hasn't been released yet.

I believe it has been canceled... Wal-mart.com of all places had it listed several months ago for pre-order. Had a nice pic of a mock up box and such. Don't remember if i have the pic of the mock box somewhere or not.
