This quote made me go :eek 2: :

I don't think you quite grasp the magnitude.

Take what you have in your mind, and magnify it by ten times.

Remember acclaim has been around since NES.

All of that legacy is coming home with me.

ALL of it.

And those Dolphin dev kits... @_@

That's an insane haul. I'm gonna guess that he dumped at least $10k into it. Weren't there something like 43,000 games? Or maybe it was 4,300 I can't remember what that site said.

I suspect he'll be a lot more once he sifts out the stuff to keep and sells/trades the rest away.

I would call in sick from my job for 2 weeks! Just sit home, drink beer, and sort through the piles and piles of stuff, cataloging and seeing exactly whats in there.... Thats like a dream!

Lot 2013: 19173 (Ninteen Thousand One Hundred Seventy Three) Gladiator Sword of Vengeance for PC

Stuff like that just don't make it worth it, nice to drool over, stupid to spend money on.

I don't know. Something tells me he didn't have to spend that much money on it. Depending on how they broke stuff up and how many collectors were there, he could've been the only one bidding on it. If everyone else there is picking up various business items (as it was a business auction, after all), I could imagine him getting all that stuff for less than $5000.

It's like finding an arcade game tucked away at a restaraunt that isn't plugged in. It isn't worth anything to the owner any more, and he'll probably just be happy to get the space back. But take it home, and turn it on, and you've got a Ms. Pac-Man worth a bit of money.

Just a thought...

There was a lot of cool stuff there, but most of the lots were entirely too enormous for me to get back to Vegas. Most of the shit in those pictures are just production-model Acclaim games, they had CRATES full of Turok: Evolution, one of the boxes is seen in the lower-right of that collage picture.

Afaik, he only brought $10,000 to the auction. The dev stuff alone is worth wayyyyyyy more money than that; he's already sold 2 PS2 TOOLs for 1000 each.

they had CRATES full of Turok: Evolution, one of the boxes is seen in the lower-right of that collage picture. So, is that why my store just received 63 copies of it?

I wana know what the N64 controller in the glass case is. And whatever that statue is on top.

Also, anyone have a colage that isn't badly resized? That image looks like shit. Shit I say! Whoever shrunk it never heard of ANTI-ALIASING? Don't use Paint.exe to resize your pictures, PLEASE! @_@

from what i can make out of the statue, it looks like it might be that dude from killer instinct, but why they would have that beats me, isnt killer instinct a RARE produced title?

The guy that made the pic is the guy that bought the lot (I think)

Actually, for me it looked like a Hell Baron from DOOM, but that would have been Activision, so that's out.

The guy that made the pic is the guy that bought the lot (I think)Yeah, I know, but I had to vent my distaste for his use of a "Photo Manipulation Tool". x_x

damn man, i would have loved to have all of that stuff. he could easily make back his money plus some without any trouble. Maybe he will hook me up with a turok: evolution for like $1 brand new, that would rock.

you know there will be a buttload of people e-mailing him and sending him pm's about buying stuff too, seeing as he has all of that

I'd love to see that.

I thought about that too, but I wonder if a sub-zero fridge means the video game character or maybe a type or make of refridgerator (a sub zero fridge would be a freezer, right?)

holy crap, that is amazing ... and I spy a box of random Japanese Megadrive games in there, including Panorama Cotton sitting nonchalantly on top of the pile. Damn, I wish they would have an auction like that for the UK Acclaim ... I would be down there with a chequebook, and all my credit cards!

You had to buy the contents of six gigantic cubicles to get at that box. Hope you can ship ten dead monitors!

I'm more curious about what various lots actually went for. To be honest, some of his photos looked interesting, but I really didn't see any must have stuff.

I'm also wondering how thoroughly the auctioneer checked developer status as it appears everything went to assembler.

There wasn't much there that was terribly interesting, as far as older games. No NES protos or anything. Most of the lots were just a bunch of standard, released games. There was one fairly interesting lot that I won, you'll hear about it when it gets shipped to me. The best stuff there was the paperwork, but the mafia bastards threatened to have me arrested when I was looking through it. There were some cool posters and promo items and stuff but, again, nothing too old, unless you really dug around in the stuff that wasn't for sale.
