Hiya!

Okay, so I went and did something stupid the other week and bought a Genesis game off eBay. Not only was it in bad condition (the cover insert is ripped and taped back together - badly - and the manual is missing the cover :( ) BUT it doesn't play on my fecking Mega Drive. I have Fatal Fury for Genesis and a Honey Bee converter and stupidly figured I was safe, since that Genesis game worked without a converter and my Japanese games work. BUM BOW, do not pass go, do not collect $200.

So... does anyone have

a) a decent copy of Bubble And Squeak (for Genesis or preferably MD)
OR
b) something that will allow me to play Genesis games on my Mega Drive?

Help! Any advice would be good if you don't have anything to offer.

I really want to play that damn game. It was one of my favourites when I was about 8, but it's impossible to find in Australia.

I have paypal and I'm kinda desperate :P

Rarrr.

Edit: topic changed, I have the Passport III now. :)

Didnt dreamcaster have the same problem with some genesis games? Bubble and squeek was a late release so its probably got region protection. I think there are some adaptors that can get past the region protection, and theres a chance video games heaven in melbourne has one, but unless i knew which one gets around it i would be guessing :P

Yeah, dreamcaster is one of my friends, so we're both equally annoyed at region lockout at the moment. :P

Where/what is Video Games Heaven? I'm going to Melbourne next month, so I may check that store out.

Also, did you post on the hyper forums in the retro section? I thought it was you but I wasn't sure so I didn't say hi.

BUMP. Topic title changed. Also feel free to sell me Mega Drive/Genesis/Jap MD and NTSC N64 games!

I install region switches on the MD system, £10 plus return postage.

Yep, that was me on hyper. Seems to be the biggest Au retro community ive found so far (which isnt saying much sadly, but it seems like a nice place) :)

VGH Melbourne is in sorta outer suburbs in a out door/indoor shopping complex thingy with a cinema. No web site, but its a pretty big store (biggest game store ive seen) and about a third of the store is retro stuff so its not too shabby. being closer to the city there is more "competition", but on the plus side they probably get more games in too..
They also have special "collector boxes" which are a mix between laughable and cool, as well as a box with all sorts of adaptors and game genies so theres a chance they have either a nitro 2 or magic key III, both of which will allow you and dreamcaster to play locked out gennie games (thnx for voomfunkel's ebay auctions for the info :) ).

PM me if you want the vgh address. Ill be going there in a week for a bit of a retro rampage (payday- w00t) so hopefully i can find you both one.

Side note: Good luck finding a genesis though, for all the genesis games in australia ive seen never seen a US genesis on ebay or in the wild. Which is fairly odd.
