I can't seem to get it to detect my memory card. It's a standard Sony 8MB with over 4000 kb free. And it works fine with all my other games @_@

Plus my gun doesn't seem to be working properly, and I've only used it once (it worked fine then).

Any thoughts on the mem card situation would be greatly appreciated.

I seem to vaguely remember that game has really poorly written status messages that just make you think it's not detecting it (it's actually just not detecting any save data for the game or something). Try playing until you find the first save point, and it'll probably work.
